I highly enjoyed the performance. Every time Conan mentioned 'Hair' the audience went nuts. The only part I didn't like was that little instrumental break where the cast usually milks the audience, I felt it turned out to be a little sloppy. Other than that, it was awesome!!! Did anyone notice Gavin thrusting his pelvis in someone's face (drools). The ending was adorable, when Alison gave Conan the flower.

I think the way the studio was set up made it harder for them to play with the audience. Those railings they tried to get up on instead of the seats... Looked a little awkward. But then again, it did give us the Gavin Slide, so it wasn't all that bad! LOL
And I too disagree with whoever said that they audience looked bored. I thought many of them looked like they were having great fun! Especially the older guy in the front when Gavin grabbed his face! He grabbed Gavin's hands and was all smiley. I thought that was awesome LOL
Jazzy, now I have to go back and look for the pelvic thrust LMAO How I missed that, I don't know!
In case you missed it ....

The "audience seemed uber-lame" because they came to see the taping of a talk show, not HAIR. Personally, I wouldn't be to thrilled to have some smelly dude shoving his crotch in my face.
if it was Gavin....i would be lol.
I thought it was great!
The audience looked a bit unsure at first but they got into in.
WHAT FUN!
Everything before hair came on was rediculously boring. Anyway, I was quite excited that Theo got more camera time than he usually does when they perform on tv. Maybe he was compensating for the fact that he never gets to be in the song, or the hippie Gods were balancing out the fact that he'll be MIA for a while. Not complaining.
And I think the crowd "felt lame" because any crowd is lame in comparison to our beastly GMA crowd, which was the last time they were on TV.

I thought they were just having a lot of fun. The actors, that is. But the more performances like this I see, the more I realize that I made a good decision not to see this on Broadway. If I were in that audience, I would've been SO uncomfortable.
Don't sit in the front row, on the aisle, or in the boxes and the actors won't come near you. It's definitely worth seeing.
I wish they would do another song! They've done "Hair" for the Tony's, GMA, and now Conan.
But, as always, that cast just wins my heart. Anyone else catch Kacie taking one of the band members hats? So cute!
^^ Kacie with the hat was really cute. Also, Allison Case was so adorable with the flower at the end of the show. I thought Conan was going to accidentally hit her in the head when he stuck his arm out. LOL I love this cast! Great job!
I wasn't that into this performance for some reason, maybe because I kept comparing it to the Tony one, but I loved when Conan randomly ate that flower. Does anyone else think that Gavin Creel and Jim Carrey have some very similar features... maybe the eyes or the mouth or something?

Schmergo,
as if I didn't love you enough...your avatar has made me love you even more. I have pictures of his pelvic thrust on pages 9 and 10 of the Gavin Creel love thread. Schmerg, have you jumped onto the Hair bandwagon?
Haha, why thank you!

Are the posters who complained about the audience blind, deaf or just stupid? The audience shrieked, cheered, clapped and you can see them smiling, reaching, grabbing and applauding. What did you want them to do, seriously?

Gavin ALMOST falls at the end of his slide down the bars. When I watched it last night, my roommate and I both were like "OH SH*T" and then laughed cuz we completely overreacted.

We are all having a flat-out orgasm over on the love thread because of that performance.
Schmerg, have you jumped onto the Hair bandwagon?
Not quite. I love several of the songs and a lot of the performers, but it's not... my type of musical. At all. Nudity and sex and drugs? Not really a Schmerg thing.
