It'll make sense when you read about it in all the papers tomorrow.
If you're the kind of person who likes to be at final performances, NOW is the time to act!!!! Tickets will be gone in no time tomorrow.

Posted: 10/21/08 at 10:29pmI don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures of the Neil Simon when I'm in the city on the 29th & then on the Nov. 12th to see the difference. Hopefully there will be some sort of scrape of a prop left that didn't get picked up.

You're taking your chances. I mean, when the public learns about what is planned for that last perf, the tickets wil fly faster than the speed of light.

I suggest you get them now before the discount is revoked tomorrow.

Posted: 10/21/08 at 10:42pmWell I'm certanily not going to dwell and how surprising this news is or how much I may or may not need tickets, but is the show really doing that poor financially for this early closure?

Couldn't you get to the theater first thing in the morning?
I know how much this means to you and I don't want you standing outside the theater on Nov 2nd, begging like a homeless person.

I hate that the last 3 shows I've been to have been closing night performances.

Posted: 10/21/08 at 10:59pmI have no doubt that Hairspray will stay open as long as I'm starring in it as every single character and it gets moved to a very very public theater. I can play Tracy while having on every single layer of wardrobe, and all I need to do is strip to be every other character.

im not convinced yet... sorry...
the only way that date would make any sense *to me* was if the deal with harvey didnt work out, but I was under the impression harvey didnt admit to coming back until all the i's were dotted and t's were crossed. And I really cant see why theyd close over a lack of box office boost when the only press releases were tentative with their wording about dates and stars and without a solid annoucement it would make sense for everyone to be waiting to buy their tickets and that would explain the lack of a big box office boost. Its not like a costly ad campaign is needed to put out solid press releases to announce the return of a star and an official date range.

sorry to spoil "Dollypop"s fun, but he/she is having fun at your expense (strange what some people call fun)
Anyway, all his/her posts are untrue, and the actual announcement is forthcoming and will be much more in line with what the "others" are writing
and oh, if you are new to BWW, I co-wrote HAIRSPRAY and originally signed up to the message boards to do just what I'm doing here, pointing out false statements

Thank you, Marc!
Sad for anyone who already bought tickets. That was pretty mean, Dolly.
