So, I was walking by a movie theatre on the east side of Manhattan today, and I noticed a pretty big (and funny) mistake on the marquee for Hairspray...look closely!

Wow, its like its not even there.
With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-

In case none of you knew, Penny was actually a man in drag, and Corny was a woman dressed like a man.

And, it's not like it's the movie theatre's mistake. It's printed on there like that!
Way to go New Line!!

I have seen that signage before and it wasn't written that way.
It could have been an error by one of the staffers assembling the decals.

-This is probably not a mistake, but I like how Tracy Turnblad doesn't even get any credit.

Having worked at a movie theatre i can tell you that signes like that come fully assembled. All you have to do is put it up.
I think they realize the kind of eole that are normallly working at a movie theatre and try to make it as " idoit proof" as possible.

That's quite spectacular.
Though I'm sad to say that neither James Bynes nor Amanda Marsden has an IMDB or IBDB profile.

Posted: 8/6/07 at 11:40amAt first I thought the "mistake" was not having Nikki's name up.
re: Hairspray Movie Marquee Screw Up#24
Posted: 8/6/07 at 11:46amMarquee signage comes pre-made. Error was definitely made by the company handling New Line's Publicity. Kinda fvcked up Nikki Blonsky's name was also left out.
