re: Hairspray Movie Screening July 16

Not wanting to deal with the crazies and getting there super early, et al, I'm waiting until after it's release day -- Saturday 7/21 AND in the afternoon to avoid the crazies on Saturday night.

i will be there Monday. Not to mention at least once a day after the official release.

I picked up the photo book and novelization today.. already have the soundtrack. next up - the dools. Can I have the REAL Efron instead of the plastic one?

I'll be at the screening in DC on Monday. After numerous plays of the recording, I can't figure out which song is my favorite. Sometimes I play, "Cooties" over and over again, then, "Good Morning Baltimore" and "Miss Baltimore Crabs" (I love the cha, cha, cha's throughout and the twist, twist, mashed potato mambo line), etc.

re: Hairspray Movie Screening July 16

Good luck to those who will be trying to get in to the screenings on Monday- the TONY screening last night was out of control crowded, so much so that they apparently stuck some of us in another theatre or something? (I'm still not sure what happened last night, but we did get to see it so that was all that mattered :)) The line was down the bock by 5:30pm, for a 7pm screening.

...which is EXACTLY what I'm going to avoid.

Did this advance screening bit once before. NEVER AGAIN!

I hope I don't come back on Monday night and say, BrodyFosse123 was right. I plan on getting there at least 2 hours ahead of time.

Are the Monday night screenings being run by Hairspray/New Line themselves? Because then that might not be so bad. Last night was my first and I think last experience with a TONY sponsored screening, and it was the second most poorly run screening in my screening-going experience.

Passes are no longer available in DC for the screening (I'm not surprised). I'm also anticipating a madhouse.

I paid a visit to the theatre that's showing the film on Monday and asked how early I should get there. The guy said, "oh probably an hour before." I don't think that's a sufficient amount of time.

Does anyone know if there will be any screenings in MI? I tried to search for some, but could only find one that you have to win.
