I think that is def. incorrect. The Hairspray nomination has not been mentioned anywhere else in nomination reporting.

Menken is Beauty and the beast and Little Mermaid composer, two greats Broadway musicals

It's a bummer but not too surprising. I didn't really like "Come So Far" and while I really enjoyed "Ladies Choice" anyone else who heard it told me it sounded just like the hand jive. But Marc and Scott have got plenty of Hairspray awards, I'm sure they'll be fine.

At least they had some nominations with the other awards like The Golden Globes, and even though they didn't any Oscar nominations, they will probably get a bunch of Kids Choice Awards nominations.

One nomination for best song is not bad, considering that most of the movies nominated for best picture, and the actors were all performances in dramatic movies with highly lauded critical success. The Oscars stayed away from commercial successes this year and decided to focus more on critical successes instead.

I really don't think Hairspray DESERVED any Oscar noms..it's a fun movie but it's nothing brilliant

The "Hairspray" film is overrated. The songs were nothing special. "Enchanted" deserves it nods. I am still shocked that "Hairspray" managed to get Golden Globe nods...

THEY WERE NOT NOMINATED FOR ANYTHING! and rightly so. they got the entire tone of the piece wrong, regardless of how amazing Jimmy and Zac's eyes are.
