Sam seems a tad old for MLK. Substitute Jeffrey Wright (who has played MLK before) for Samuel L. Jackson and I am sold.

she will sell tickets and if she is interested in doing B'way then that will help get the show up and also employ a greater number of theater actors and a chorus of people will get jobs. Get a grip folks.

I think it's disgusting that a Hollywood actor would even think of taking a Broadway role. I suppose next year's Tony telecast will include a montage representing Halle's work in film.

This thread is ridiculous. If you actually read the article, it says producers are equally interested in having Anika Noni Rose play the role, an actress who all of us should be very happy about considering she is a stage actress first and foremost. In no way does it finalize the producers choice of having Halle Berry play the role.

I know! How DARE Anika leave the sacred turf of Broadway and do Dreamgirls and The Princess And The Frog? Doesn't she know that her rightful place is on the stage in New York and not in Hollywood? She's turned her back on Broadway and therefore should be condemned to the 9th level of hell.
As for Halle Berry, if she has the audacity to step onto a Broadway stage she better be prepared for some repercussions. There are consequences to all these doggone movie stars poisoning our theater landscape. Consequences up to, and including a full scale riot outside the theater. Theater people will NOT sit still and continue to allow uppity, less talented Hollywoodsters to come in and steal roles from our hallowed Broadway actors!
