I think the shots fired during the duels are pretty loud, and there are three duels. But you know those are coming, so you can prepare yourself. (I mean, it is a duel.) There's also cannon fire in the battle scenes (which are great), but I don't remember how loud those are. Plus, the Broadway run may be different!

Posted: 3/17/15 at 7:47pmThanks for letting me know! I appreciate it! I am hard of hearing but those loud gunshots make me jump out of my seat. I can only imagine what they sound like with an infared device!

Posted: 3/17/15 at 9:27pmYou should have pretty ample warning so you can take the device out of your ears in time. Isn't there any accommodation for a sudden loud sound? I don't know how the assistive devices work.

Posted: 3/17/15 at 10:14pmBarring any huge changes to those particular scenes, you will have plenty of warning to pop the listening device out (which I would definitely recommend because OUCH).

As the other posters said, it could be changed for Broadway but, as it currently stands, you have plenty of warning each time (there are three duels that all end with a bang) but I was in the 5th row and I did not find it particularly loud at all. Get tickets asap - this one should not be missed!
