Hi, Sorry if this is already a thread (I searched and couldn't find it.) Has anyone sat in the mezz boxes at the Rodgers? A friend had luck getting them at the box office, and before I tried I wanted to see if my parents would be able to get a good enough view of the show. Thanks everyone.

Hamilton is beautifully staged and lit. I happened to pass thru both boxes as I exited the theater and the view from them will not show this beauty at all. If your parents happen to love rap music they will be fine. Most of the people in the audience when I saw it looked like they would never listen to two rap sings in a row. It is a long evening of rap if you cannot see the complicated staging and extraordinary lighting from the front.
If you are going to Hamilton, or any show, because you appreciate theater as an art form see it from, the front as the director intended.

Thanks Mike for the info! I saw it at the Public and loved it, and they've listened to the soundtrack so fingers crossed this might be a non-scalper way for them to check it out this year.

As someone who actually sat and watched the show from the box seats, they're perfectly fine for Hamilton. Granted, yes, you'll miss something on the extreme sides, but most of the show is centered.
Plus, you're closer in the boxes than say, the rear mezz or orchestra. You can see expressions and emotions in the boxes.
You'll get the light and the direction and choreography fine.

I agree the boxes are pretty great. Not the best in the house but being able to see tears running down the actors cheeks is pretty great and not something you could see from the rear. I think the staging is fine from that view.

I first bought a box office for Javier's first show (it was the first Saturday matinee) and it was $167. I also bought out a box (3 seats) for my parents and I for Thanksgiving weekend and it was $199 a piece, but I believe that's the regular price for that weekend.
So, whatever the regular price tickets are is the price of the box.

Thanks so much for all the info! I was able to get two box seats for my folks for December. I got them at the theatre (they were $167, and are considered partial view.) I was told they are only sold there.

Lucky you! I called the box office direct today and was told that the only way to get box office seats was secondary market through ticketmaster (which have them listed at $400 and up). If I knew they still had seats available for the date(s) I wanted I might consider taking a day off work and driving up to the box office to grab them, but the guy on the phone didn't seem to think there were any available.
I saw Seat Geek has them for much less ($280), but I'm leery of them after reading reviews. Has anyone had any experience with them?

That's weird. I've looked at Hamilton seats on Ticketmaster a ton and can't recall ever seeing box seats listed for sale. Is there something special you have to click to show them?

As near as I can tell you can't access them via the map, but I found them by clicking "List all resale" and then scrolling. So far, that's the only way I've been able to spot them and, thus far, it's always been resale.

I asked at the box office yesterday. The earliest date a box seat
was available is in August. He found me side orchestra seats,
row L for October 28 and row C for Feb 3. Both are Wednesday
matinees, $167.00 each.

I was able to get two box seats for a December matinee in two separate boxes. Price was $167 each. I live in California, but a friend in NY was willing to go to the box office for me! I know that it is partial view, but I am still excited to see it...well, to see most of it

I just purchased three box seats for my husband and two 12 year old boys. Are there just three seats in the box? Do they have any extra leg room? I'm concerned that my boys might get a little antsy, so I'm hoping they are a little insulated here.

Is there a preference in getting audience right box seats vs audience left box seats? I know that the stage will be cut off in the box seats, and I'm wondering whether you miss more for one vs the other.

Yes, it's just three seats in a box and they're free-standing chairs so they can be moved around as needed.

I sat in the house right box when I saw the show and I didn't miss much, maybe Burr giving Lafayette's intro for "Guns and Ships". I have house left box seats during Thanksgiving weekend and I feel like with the stairs being on that side, I'll miss a few things there. I'll let you know afterwards. :)

I imagine so! Why not? There are three seats in a box, and I bet many people buy two, leaving one single. I think you'd have an easier time if you just want one.

It looks like they're now $177. I just went to the box office during my lunch break to grab a single ticket for a friend who's visiting in March and for me for the first performance after the Tonys.

I marveled to the box office guy the other day that there is such good availability for the box seats. He said that as soon as he tells customers "partial view," they don't want them. That puzzles me because there are other partial view seats at the Rodgers, and they seem to be selling fine. But I'm not complaining that there's a little-known way in to Hamilton that doesn't involve paying those crazy resale prices. Of course, if I kept my big mouth shut about it, it would be even better! So please don't read this.
