okay, so I am sure that we have all given thought to who should be cast in the Hamilton Film Adaptation. I have put together a list of names, some of them I am sure of their singing capabilities, some of them not sure. I casted mostly on who I thought in Hollywood could act and embody the roles the best. Please add suggestions for other characters that I did not list as well as give suggestions that you think may fit better? Everything is so subjective, so it should be interesting.
Alexander Hamilton-Javier Bardem
Aaron Burr-Jaime Foxx
Thomas Jefferson-Chadwick Boseman
George Washington-Chiwetel Ejiofer
Angelica-Naya Rivera
Eliza-Vanessa Hudgens
Peggy-Anna Kendrick
Philip Hamilton/John Laurens-Jacob Artist
King George III-Jonathan Groff
Omg please no. Not now. I can already see where this thread will devolve to...
Isn't this kind of thread Aida Man's job?

Just...wow. The movie is YEARS off. My guess is 10 years. That would make your dream Burr and Hamilton both pushing 60 (they're both 47 or 48 now, I think), Eliza close to 40, and Peggy over 40.
i know the show spans several decades, but I just can't imagine a 50 or 60 year Hamilton.
And if the show comes to stunt casting, it has to be Common as Washington.
i'd guess longer than 10 years.
Common unfortunately can't act his way out of a paper bag.
More so basing my choices on if it were to come out now. I just made this for fun, there will be plenty of new actors that will rise up in the next ten years that would be better/more age appropriate
Common's acting is wooden. I agree to that. Miranda has mentioned many times that when he was writing for Washington, he envisioned someone like Conmon playing him. I'm just curious how he'd portray him.
Maybe Michael B. Jordan as Burr and keep Lin Manuel Miranda as Hamilton? If you are talking about now.
The Schuyler sisters should be played by Barbra Streisand, Harvey Fierstein, and Lea Michele.
This thread will be on page 200,000 by the time the movie comes out.
Almost a day went by without a new Hamilton thread.
it was 20 hours or so, i think.

By the time they're ready to do a film-version of "Hamilton," the youngest members of the Broadwayworld community will be able to watch their great, great, great, great grandchildren audition for it.
they aren't gonna wait 200 years to make a movie.
i want Audra McDonald's unborn child to play Angelica.

PERFECT CASTING.
I wish we still lived in the days when the movie came not too long after the Broadway debut, but the current financial climate makes this impossible. Shows and tours need to run longer nowadays to recoup and today's society would rather stay inside and watch the DVD if the option is available. However, this just increases the odds of the movie coming off as stale and dated once it finally arrives. By the time Hair hit theaters it was a living time capsule, same goes for Rent. How awkward to watch the aged OBC attempting to relive the glory days before we all realized how crappy Larson's book was. Believe it or not there is a very possible future awaiting us where Hamilton will be seen as embarrassingly old-hat. If the creative team want to get the most out of a potential film then they better get it in the can before the zeitgeist dies out.
I have no idea who has the box office draw AND talent to play Hamilton (maybe if LMM's star keeps rising...), but for the rest here is the list I've been keeping:

If it was made now I'd want Donald Glover as Hamilton and Oscar Isaac as Burr. But yes, they'll be too old by the time it actually gets made.

Beyonce as Angelica Schuyler. ( I would not be surprised if she is on that Hamilton Mixtape that is coming out later this year)

I don't think this will work on film. It is way too musical parody-ish.
Great singing can be sensational on screen but rapping into the camera is a bit lame. Also, the show is based on posturing and posing which can be funny in theatre but not on film.
in what way is it parodying musicals
