For those that have been to Hamilton since previews started, how crowded has the stage door been?
I was there on Monday and the stage door was relatively crowded but not crazy. I was on the right side orchestra so it was easy for me to hustle out after curtain call and get a good spot right in front of the door, but you'd have no problem getting a spot even if you exited slowly or from upstairs. It was a single line that went two deep in some places. There was a LOT of hubub around the theater in general though since VP Biden was there.
One interesting thing is that they had barriers up but as cast members came out they all seemed surprised to see them, as though it was the first time they had done it. Cast members were all wonderful and lots of them came out.

Did they sign and take pictures for everyone waiting or just the people right behind the barricades? Especially asking for Lin, Leslie, Daveed, Jonathon. Thank you.
They were really great about signing for everyone as far as I could tell! I was directly facing the door and the only area where it seemed to go more than one person deep was in that section around me. We passed playbills forward and they all made sure that people got theirs signed.
I saw Lin, Leslie, Daveed and Jonathon all take pictures with people who asked. I think it might be hard to get a photo if you aren't near the front but we helped one girl next to me get forward for one. Just depends on the crowd. If you want to be front row just walk further down the line.
The only people of note who didn't come out were Okieriete Onaodowan & Anthony Ramos. I had hoped to have all the principals sign my poster but I'm thrilled with those that I got.

Thank you. I should be fine by getting right in front of the barricade (I usually always do, I'm always out quick when I stage door) especially if it's one really long barricade (ala Cabaret, The River, and the Elephant Man as recent ones) but if not I am happy to know I will also be fine. I just hope to see this show already, lol!

Jasmine Cephas Jones didn't come out on Monday either, and I love me some Peggy!
My windowcard is nearly complete but we're not there yet.
But as NJ said, the entire cast was overly kind and made sure to get pictures with everyone. The crowd was very kind too, allowing people a little farther back to maneuver to the front to gets pictures and then switching places again. I wouldn't say it was very crowded. It was a well-behaved crowd, and I think everyone was excited to share the experience together.
I was there on a Friday night. I don't usually stagedoor, but we were walking by and had nothing else planned, so we decided, why not?
It was quite crowded (about 3-4 deep all along the barricade). The entire cast was extremely gracious. I couldn't get close enough for autographs or photos with cast members, but I really wasn't concerned about it. The cast tried to sign as much as they could within reach and often posed for photos. Miranda was espcecially cute as he would just grab someone's phone who had requested a picture and take the selfie himself. I believe we saw everyone in the cast come out, including Jasmine. They were all very sweet and personable. The crowd was pretty well-behaved. I'm not fond of those in the back trying to shove their Playbills through and over others (first come-fist served or line up at the end of the barricade) and there was one lady who would shove her way directly in front of me to take photos that I had to put in check, but that was relatively minor in the grand scheme of things.
I was there last night, and the stage door crowd was fairly full, but not super crowded. Even after a 2-show day, almost all of the cast came out and spent time chatting, signing, and taking pictures with everyone who wanted. I saw Lin taking a ton of pictures. When I chatted with him briefly, he said he was running off home to "add 4 more lines to the show"!
Jonathan Groff was the last to come out, and, when he reached the end of the line (where we were), he said "wow, thanks for being patient and waiting so long." Total sweetheart!
Hi,
I Was Wondering If Lin Comes Out On Matinee Days???? Thanks

My friend went to a matinee showing and Lin didn't come out so she stage door again in the evening. This was during previews though so things might have changed.

Which cast members tend to come out after a matinee?

It's been reallly random. Prob Daveed Diggs, Chris Jackson and one of the girls on average. Munoz on Sundays.

Thanks :) So you don't think Liz, Jonathan or Leslie will be there/are there often?

I went in september after a Saturday matinee. Most of the Cast came out except the girls We even saw Lin sneaking into the stagedoor. It was when he didn't perform on Saturday matinees

Lin will pretty much not stage door matinees as he does the "Ham4Ham" lotto shows that take prep and time away from his break.
The others are usually in a rotation so it's hard to know who will come out. The whole cast rarely comes out, even on evening performances.
I'll put this here too.
Just wanted to tell you guys...
My friend and I went to the Hand to God matinee on Saturday. After much convincing, (he wanted to watch the Mets game!) I talked him into trying the Hamilton lottery. We got there a bit early... I think 5:00ish and Daveed Diggs was just hanging out on the street. Just kind of standing there-not behind a fence. One guy went over to chat with him. He walked back down the block--he was so cute. He was so excited because Daveed liked his tie, it was kind of adorable. Anyway, I didn't go talk to him, as I am painfully shy, but he seemed so approachable. He seemed like a super nice, easy-going person.
I went to the Saturday matinee during Flea Market weekend and Lin and Jonathan did not come out, but Renee, Leslie, Phillipa, Chris, and others did. I went to stage door that evening to get Lin, Jonathan, and a few others to sign, and both Lin and Jonathan came out then.
The last two times I went practically everyone came out except Lin and Jon, however my friend said she thought she saw Lin peek his head out the stagedoor and laugh at me (I was getting my face signed by the cast, apparently the doorman grabbed Lin to show him). Both times were for matinees.
How long do you usually need to wait at the stage door before the cast starts coming out?

I went to the Hamilton CD signing last week & was bummed that Renee Elise Goldsberry wasn't there, due to some filming commitments. She was one of my favorite parts of the show. I normally loathe stage dooring but I would really love to have her sign my CD. So I was considering going to the stage door sometime soon. I'd want to do it before it gets too cold out.
I saw that Lin is out sick tonight. I wonder if tonight would be a good night to try to get Renee's signature. Maybe the crowds will be a bit thinner. Is it weird to go & just wait for one person though?? I don't have too much experience with this. (Though I suppose I could try to get Anthony Ramos' signature too-- he wasn't at the signing either. But someone mentioned how he didn't come out to the stage door the night they went.)

At least a 1/2 hour but if you stick it out, the crowd thins a lot. On a Sat night, it went from over 100 to 25ish. If you're at the end of the line, you can talk longer since there's no one waiting. All of them are very chill, no one acts above it.

Not really, just hang back when the others come out if you're not interested. Position yourself at the end of the line so when she does come you can fall back in. The 2x I went back, she came out fairly early ( not first but not too long after)

I finally went to the stage door last week to get Renee's signature. Of course she was the last one to come out but at least I have my CD signed by her now.
I didn't see Anthony Ramos. He's technically the only principal player that didn't sign my album. NJ_BroadwayGirl didn't see him at the stage door & he wasn't at the B&N album signing. Is this just not his thing?? I would have loved to have added his signature to my CD but I think one night of stage dooring is enough for me.
When I saw the show both times Anthony Ramos came out and signed and took pic w fans. He enjoyed mingling w the fans unless he is sick. He made funny face in a pic I took too.
