Hamilton Tix for under $200

First time poster, long time reader. Saw Hamilton last summer for $160. Loved it! Want give tix as a gift to my children. At Ticketmaster I can't seem to find anything for under $500. Are there any options for advance tix for under $200?

According to Broadway Grosses their average ticket is "only" $154.60. How is that possible based on published prices? Would love to find something near that price. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hamilton is well worth $150. In fact, the regular ticket price is now $177. Thousands of people would be happy to fork over their $177 for a seat, if any were available. Maybe you're looking at premium seats? Those are $470.

Many of the seats you might be seeing on Ticketmaster are resales. That's why they are so much money. They are marked with a reddish symbol on the seat.

People initially buy the tickets for the regular prices, then resell them on Ticketmaster for whatever price they want. So, when you look on Ticketmaster for Hamilton tickets, pay attention to the message you get before the seating chart for your chosen date appears. The ones you want will say from the venue.

If you're okay with paying the regular price for a partial-view seat, here's a recent thread about it. I haven't sat in a box yet, but I am seeing the show from box B in May.

I think you have to wait for the next batch of tickets to be released. In my ticketmaster search, it seemed all the tickets regularly priced below $200 (so, the mezz seats and the orch sides (not premium)) were gone by now.

It really just depends on how people value different things and their disposable income. Like, if they want $500 tickets and a $15 haircut what's the difference? Most of us spend on at least a few things that others think are crazy. As long as you pay your bills, save for the future and have a stable job, then who cares? Plus, it depends on your personality, some people (like me) find it more rewarding to blow money on experiences and some want things.

I bought my tickets for July 2016 in September when the new block of tickets went on sale. Got front row rear mezz for 77 bucks each though which is all I was willing to spend on this show.

There is an entire thread about the Hamilton cancellation line with lots of good info.

I had success finding advanced tickets a month or two ago for this spring for $89 by checking a ton of dates on Ticketmaster every day. I found what appeared to be a group cancellation seeing as there were a good fifteen to twenty seats available together in the rear mezzanine, and they were snapped up within a day or two. I might have just gotten extremely lucky, but it could be worth a shot to try a similar approach yourself.

What is the need of some people to crap all over others? No one asked your opinion of the show or of how they spend their money OR how you choose your money.

The need for self importance is overwhelming.

I saw it for that price also the day before Labor Day and my only complaint was the leg room - lol.

I just wanted to add that if anyone is considering the box seats, a web site called A View From My Seat has quite a few photos. Based on looking at these, I would recommend the lower boxes only. I believe they are A, B, C and D (but double-check at the box office). I think the upper boxes are fine, but you're looking down from much higher. Because of that, I think they should be discounted and not sold at regular price. I'm personally okay with paying full price for the lower boxes, but your mileage may vary.

Right. Cause the guy with the Hamilton profile name and the picture of King George, who just offered to help someone get Hamilton tickets for a cheaper price, certainly HATES Hamilton. That's Broadway world logic 101 for ya.
