According to this pre-order link on Amazon, the book of vocal selections should be released April 1st for only $19.99!

I do too, but appreciate it more after I heard a cast member say it's purposefully race/featureless to further emphasize how it's "our" story. 

I can't wait for the onslaught of overuse of these songs in cabarets and auditions now.

I still haven't received a confirmation from Amazon that the book of vocal selections have been released and are shipping and the wait is positively killing me (I caved and bought helpless online however). has anyone received the actual physical book and if so where did you get it? I'm dying without it!

Looks like they don't physically have it yet. I pre-ordered it too, and it still says its waiting to be able to ship.  

 

The good news: it's 3 dollars cheaper.

I believe they are fulfilling Hamilton orders within 3 days at this time.

another block in my quest for the book of vocal selections this morning: I had cancelled my Amazon order and ordered at musicdispatch several days ago, but then today received an email saying the item was "backorder as of 04/05/2016:1 - Hamilton. Items on backorder will not be charged to your credit card until they come into stock and are ready to ship." What is going on with this item??

They must have. I received mine a week ago.

 

I'm sorry gypsy. But the I suspect you'll still get your copy faster from musicdispatch.

 

As to the folio, it's very nice. Large, clean engraving and thoughtfully arranged.

 

My only complaint is they omitted The Story of Tonight.

so now that I had the selections (i received them last wednesday) I am even sadder about what's not included. only 17 songs of the greatest musical in a generation? maybe they will release a volume 2 with songs left over.

You know I've only played through it quickly so I didn't even notice those omissions.
