John Kander turns 88 years old today. Happy Birthday, John, and when I'm as old as you, I want to be as young. I can't claim that I've seen a lot of people in their late eighties bound up and down the stairs of the Vineyard Theater, not to mention continue to write surprising new work!

Well, I always celebrated those 75th, 80th, and 85th birthdays with John Kander-music-a-thons at my house, but unfortunately, I'm not the NY Phil.
