Tonight "Hairspray" will celebrate its 6th year and 2,479th performance on Broadway. Congratulations to everyone involved in the show!
6 years. Great for them.
I still haven't seen it yet.

One of my favorite shows, and one of my favorite finales. I've seen it three times and I'm still not tired of it.
In my lifetime of theatre going, Hairspray ranks as the show I've seen the most (20x). Happy Anniversary and congratulations to all involved (now if they would just re-incorporate all those costumes they cut).
It seems like just yesterday they were celebrating their 5th anniversary!
Here's to many more years of hearing bells and not stopping the beat!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, Hairspray!
:]
Keep intergrating the Corny Collins Show nightly! :]
I love this show, and I hope I get to see it again. Happy Birthday!

Spray the Love! Happy Birthday to my favorite show! Thanks for making the world a better place...and congrats on becoming one of the 20 longest running shows in Broadway history!
Aww yay! What a great show.
Wow, 6 years... seems like just yesterday...
I love this show so much. It was the first show that I truly identified with and holds a special place in my heart!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuBroadway Legend Joined: 6/11/07

HBBrock... post a quick review for us. What were the highlights? Was Marissa back? Was it a full house? Any special announcements from the cast or creators?
happy birthday to them!!!! one of my favorite shows too. yes marissa was back..so was aubrey both were out last night because both were under the weather, but both sounded at the top of their game tonight. some seats were empty in the orch, just a couple in the mezz and the boxes were empty(all due to prob the weather conditions tonight).

Marissa was back and she was great! It was sold out from what I could tell...I was in the front row (won the lottery) so I couldn't see the very back of the mezzanine, but it was PACKED and the line at 7:15pm was ridiculous for an 8pm show.
At the end of "You Can't Stop The Beat", Marissa came to the front and said its a very special night for them and that they are celebrating their 6th anniversary and they all wanted to thank everybody involved in the present and past. Everyone cheered loudly.
YCSTB was an AMAZING ending song...but I thought "Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now" and "Welcome to the 60s" were incredible too....actually, every song is. That show is completely "hit loaded"....what great music!
