After an amazing 47 year career on Broadway, Susan Sampliner retired yesterday. Most recently she served as the Company Manager for Wicked from opening night through her retirement. She has also been Company Manager, General Manager, or Associate GM for A Chorus Line (original production), Best Little Whorehouse, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Grease, Chicago, and Jesus Christ Superstar among many other shows. Having had the chance to work with Susan changed my life and career trajectory; she could not be a kinder, more welcoming and knowledgeable person. Happy Trails Susan!

A true legend of her field! Happy retirement.

(Also did not realize until now that she is married to one of the most prolific people on Broadway: music copyist Emily Grishman)

She’s also the sister of James Sampliner.

Miss Susan is the gold standard of an industry professional. Had the pleasure of working with her on a few "Wicked" ticketing initiatives, as well as the Broadway Green Alliance. I'm convinced she's superhuman being able to not only run the small city that is "Wicked" (there's a special place in Heaven for Company Managers) but simultaneously found and grow the BGA. Wishing this extraordinary woman a wonderful retirement!
