At this point, I don't know who I'll love more than the other in the role of Velma - Chenoweth, Mullay, or Krakowski. I feel since it's a TV audience, Krakowski has a better shot than other 2 but oh well.
I'm still rooting for Cher to be Prudy Pingleton, though the whole age thing probably throws things off.
Also, with some makeup - it's not at all difficult to make Hudson appear older. She has very recently changed her style (under 2 years) when she has been going for a fresh crisp young look. Before that, she was always a little bit of a mess when it came to style. I think she'll do the role a great justice. Plus, the "I Know When I'm Going" will resonate so much with the audience, she's actually had real struggles in her life and she'll pour her heart out in this performance. And hopefully she will finally get that Emmy! #EGOT

NBC has definitely learned their lesson. I am so glad that they are filming this on multiple locations and have a live studio audience too. this production will definitely blow the other NBC live musicals away. The sets will look amazing and i'm sure the choreography willl be amazing. I am so excited for this!!!
I would be happy with either Krakowski or Chenoweth as Velma

Now that jennifer hudson, martin short, derek hough, and harvey fierstein are confirmed, here are my dream casting for the rest of the cast:
Velma Von Tussle: Jane krakowski or kristen chenoweth
Amber Von Tussle: Dove Cameron
Link Larkin: James Maslow or Grant Gustin
Penny Pingleton: Ariel Winter
Prudy Pingleton: Jane Lynch
Little Inez: Shanice Williams (she might be too old for that role)
Seaweed: Elijah Kelley, Trevor Jackson, or newcomer
The Dynamites: Newcomers or a famous R&B girl group
I just REALLY want them to keep 'Velma's Revenge'- as it's my favorite song in the first Act and really gives Velma a chance to really belt it out. Really hated the Vegas/Hollywood Bowl version of character as the role came off much smaller than the original and she wasen't really established much as a villain or given much of a backstory. Missed having the song in the film as well.
-Also hope they include the Von Tussles in 'You Can't Stop The Beat'

Elijah Kelley makes the most sense for Seaweed and will probably be the one cast but they could also surprise us all and go another direction with some R&B/Pop star like Jason Derulo...

I wonder what the producers are thinking re: repeating any of the film's cast. I think JM is more on the mark with the casting of a R&B star.
"
Can I throw in Jussie Smollett for Seaweed? I don't actually want him cast (guy cannot dance like Elijah can or play corny and looks old-ish), but he would belt them songs like a pro. Fox/NBC might not work in his favor either.
I'd love to see them bring Ne-Yo back for Seaweed, I thought he was fantastic in the Wiz.

Ne-Yo is waayyyy toooo oollldddd. he's 36. you think he can actually play a high school aged student??!?!!
I am seriously wondering if Corbin Bleu would reprise the role of Seaweed. Or if they'll try to nab Jordan Fischer who played Doody in GREASE LIVE.
They might as well just go ahead and cast Jordan Fischer...they're practically raiding anyone or anything that was connected to "Grease: LIVE!"

I would've never guessed he's the same age as Hudson, I think he came across as pretty young in The Wiz.
I AM HUNGRY FOR MORE CASTING INFO!
I'm hungry for a Philly Cheesesteak..fully loaded. Go figure...

Looks like we'll be getting some new casting news tomorrow on the Today show!
I am assuming it will be a Tracy casting announcement. Though I'd much prefer it being some other character casting- like Velma
