"she looks fabulous as a redhead."
Yes, she does!
You can't read it, but that tattoo says "Rathnait62."

With that blonde wig/hair/whatever, Bernie looks a LOT like Madeline Kahn. Especially the second picture.
That is not a wig. That is her real hair. She was born a brunette but her mother bleached her hair at a very early age - around 5 - so she would get more work as blond, blue eyed kids were the most popular to be cast. Probably the same reason her mom changed her last name - to avoid being type cast in ethnic roles. Bernadette remained a blond until her early 30s when she gradually became a redhead.
I find it pretty funny that people so identify her with red curly hair. I remember reading an article just a few years back. It was a review or something and the writer talked about the first time he had seen her in a Broadway show in the 70s (can't remember which one) and he specifically remembered her red, curly hair. Though obviously his memory was playing tricks on him because at the time he was remembering she had blond, straight hair.
Bernadette actually cut several inches off her hair just a couple of years ago (it fell right at her shoulders) and then let it grow long again. I really prefer it longer. When you have all those curls, you need some length to keep it from being too wild and bushy.
Here's the link to the short, blond hairstyle from the late 60s/early 70s.

I thought it looked really good at her shoulders. Less overwhelming on her tiny frame.
She needs to cut it short.
In moljul's photo she looks like Cindi Lauper

She must NEVER cut it short - I'll cry.
Her Mom sounds like quite the stage mother.
Yes, it should be cut short, it is very unbecoming for women of a "certain age" to have hair that long. It used to be said that women 'over 40 should not wear their hair to their waist'. God knows what they say about women over 50!
It would open up all sorts of new work opportunities for her. I'm sure most casting people wouldn't see beyond the hair.

She still looks AMAZING for her age.
Phenominal figure as well.
The short hair didn't really strike me as making her look much different. (see below) I just thought her hair looked less "in control". LOL
By the way, I find this thread very funny especially considering how long its gone on.

YAY! Long live the BP straight-hair thread. I am quite surprised it has found this much life as well, but have been so please by the outpouring of pics and feedback. I love all of you. :)I am glad I started it. :)
Edited because it seems I had bad information...guess I'm not as smart as I think I am!

Donna is not Bernadette's twin sister. In the many interviews I've read and seen about Bernadette, (and with Bernadette) at no time has she been referred to as her "twin". Donna is the eldest of the 3 siblings, with Joseph in the middle.
The link has a few photos of Bernadette with her sister Donna DeSeta, at the Matrix Awards in 2004.

I love BP's hair. It is so pretty. I could never in my whole life keep my hair that pretty with such tight curls. I give her props (many props) for that!
Gosh darn, stupid double post!
