Posted: 6/5/07 at 2:57pmI tried after the evening performance on 5/12 but I was told before the show that she leaves immediatly after curtain call. After the cast took its bows, I rushed out of the theater and waited by the enterance to Playwrights Horizon for 30 minutes but she didn't come out. When I asked someone that worked there, they replied that she had left already.

I tried to meet her in Provincetown when she was on the street. She was rude to me and refused to sign, after I said hello and paid her a compliment. I thought for years it was something I did.
However, in Caroline Rhea's last comedy special she talks about how cold and rude Sigourney Weaver was to her as well. I think she does not like interacting with fans and makes every attempt not to. I am not saying she is a bad person, she just does not like her privacy invaded.

I am sorry to hear she is like that, but thanks for letting me know. I am not even going to waste my time staying for autographs tonight.

That same thing happened to me when I wanted to meet Alec Baldwin, he'd never come out after "Sloane", did anyone get to meet him?
That sucks about Sigourney, Bettyboy.

Posted: 6/6/07 at 8:03amWhen I was at the Chorus Line stage door last week, guess who came out of the s.d.? Alec Balwin himself. He actually looked nice, well dressed...well shaved.. I was momentarily stunned. For a split second, I considered asking for his autograph, but I only had the long Chorus Line poster with me. SINCE we're talking about autographs, I'm curious about Miss Vanessa Redgrave. Does she go to the stage door after a perf? I mean, she seems to be so austere and intimidating.. and that's from looking at her theatre poster. I sense she's the type who doesn't suffer fools gladly. But, would anyone care to share any info on her stage door demeanor? RC in Austin, Texas

Posted: 6/6/07 at 8:08amI've heard that when she does indeed sign autographs (4-5 times a week, but not after matinees), she's more than gracious.

Posted: 6/6/07 at 11:54amThat is a shame to hear about Sigourney. When I saw her in "The Mercy Seat" a few years ago I waited after the show for her (and was actually the only one) and she ended up talking to me for quite a while and signing/taking pictures. I would actually go so far as to say that she was one of the most gracious actresses I've ever met.

I saw Crazy Mary last night, and decided to stay to meet Kristine Nielsen. Guess who came out with her?
Sigourney Weaver was extremely gracious an she signed my playbill. She told me she was happy I finally got to see her perform live. I was totally stunned!
I guess everybody has one good day.

Posted: 6/7/07 at 1:41amAw, what a good story! Way back when, I used to love all her movies and was mad that I missed Mrs. Farnsworth. I've been contemplating seeing this for sentiment's sake, but haven't read the best things about it. At least you had a pleasant experience to come away with.

Posted: 6/7/07 at 7:24amC is for Company, go see this play. I thought it was brillant. Kristine Nielsen's performance alone was worth it for me, even if I had walked away with a bad experience from Sigourney Weaver.

Posted: 6/7/07 at 8:03amPatti LuPone Fanatic... Vanessa Redgrave is very gracious when she signs. I think she takes off right after the show on Saturday nights ~ since they're dark Sunday and Monday, I think she gets away (I know Mother's Day weekend she took off to spend the rest of the weekend in the country ~ according to the girl who came out and graciously told us Ms. Redgrave had already left.) But when I saw it the first time (on a Friday night) she did come out and sign ~ and even joked with me a little because I was hanging up on a call to my parents telling them to get their calendars together and I'd call in the morning and see what worked out so they could see the show. She smiled and said "Conning people into coming?" She was very gracious about talking with people and signing, and she'd look in your eyes as you were talking with her. A wonderful experience. Just don't count on Saturday evenings or apparently any matinees.
LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
