Christine Lakin's voice is delightful, very "in character" for her part, sort of cheerful and dark, very rich.

If we're going to talk about the shows tonight can we please start with talking about Julie Garnye's Martha Dumptruck? She was wonderful, her number killed, so amazing.

i went tonight and the concert was AMAZING! really really funny and super market-able. i heard a while back that autumn hurlbert was being considered for veronica, and id really like too see that. annaleigh is great, but i think veronica should be a little more... how should i say this... brainy-er?

I personally would love to see Krysta Rodriguez. But Annaleigh was wonderful.

Krysta would be awesome! I loved Annaleigh but I feel like Veronica needs to be little more dark.

I enjoyed it, but my favorite part was the director mock thanking Rick Sordelet for the slow motion Act I finale fight scene.

This sounds great. Though I can't imagine Annaleigh Ashford as Veronica, the role has Kristen Bell written all over it.
I'm surprised Christine Lakin has a career after THE HOTTIE & THE NOTTIE, good for her.

Thanks for all the information. I know it was sold out, but was it a mob scene? What is the running time? Is there a two-drink minimum or anything like that? Thanks in advance.

It's about 80 minutes long. Last night it wasn't a mob scene, but it was definitely a packed house. I don't know what it was like after the show, as I slipped out. There is a two-drink minimum.

I find Joe's Pub very strange with regard to minimums: you can choose EITHER the two-drink minimum OR the $12 food minimum. Which makes very little sense when you consider that their drinks are invariably upwards of $12 each.

Very crowded, but not a mob scene. I was actually pleasantly surprised: this was possibly the chillest crowd I've ever seen at a Joe's gig. I just hope it's as nice tonight. :)

Dear Ken, I'm in pieces. Why the cold shoulder? Love, Barbie

"F**k Broadway Gently with a Chainsaw"

Tasteless and offensive.

The guy can't post a link to his review of the concert?

Or are you just throwing a fit about his EDITED language? Grow up. Why don't you go harass the South Park guys for getting Book of Mormon to Broadway. That seems like something you would do.

The headline is way less offensive than the fact that the writing is completely awful.

""F**k Broadway Gently with a Chainsaw"

It is absolutely disgraceful that this kind of hateful, brain-dead, life-negating garbage is allowed to be posted on a theater chat board. Shame on the poster and shame on the monitors who tolerate this atrocity. "

Just out of curiousity, are you aware that "F*ck me gently with a chainsaw" is probably one of the most quoted lines from the movie?

The 11:30 show last night was completely amazing, and what a crowd. Great group of people, and great show.

"Just out of curiousity, are you aware that "F*ck me gently with a chainsaw" is probably one of the most quoted lines from the movie?"

I'm guessing the answer is "no". Ignorance breeds intolerance.

The "tasteless and offensive" line is choice too. I mean, did you even see the movie? If you can't handle the tone and subject matter of the movie then of course you are going to be offended by the musical.

What is the status of this project? Does anyone know? It's been almost two years and nothing.
