Am in NY in Jan and really want to see Hello Dolly. There seems to be loads of tickets available on sites like StubHub. I know these sites are bad in all kinds of ways but am thinking it’s my only option. What are other people’s experiences with Stubhub? Will I end up being turned away at the door if I try and get a ticket from them? Not sure if I should risk it or not! Any help or advice would be amazing ??
StubHub is fine. Very legit. I wouldn't worry about it. If there is an issue, in rare cases, StubHub will usually get you another seat or refund your $$$
You could always try for Standing Room if you are concerned by StubHub.
Hater is spot on with what he says. They seem to be the most reliable re-seller/scalper out there.

I think our first question for the OP should be when in January will you be in NY because it's a very different ticket purchase for Bette versus Bernadette versus the whole week there is no show.

StubHub is entirely reputable, and they will guarantee that your tickets are legit or they will refund your money. I've sold on StubHub for many years (tennis, not broadway), and they are very diligent about the tickets being delivered and being legit.
BUT please know this -- the tickets you select on StubHub are NOT guaranteed to be the same tickets you receive. The seller has the right to substitute tickets of "equal or better value." So if you had your heart set on sitting in A103, you may find that you don't actually get that seat.
I have my opinions on this -- but that's not what's important -- you just need to know it can, and does happen.

I actually was able to get into Hamilton with the original cast on StubHub for $200 a ticket by waiting until the last minute, I mean, literally the last minute, at 6:40 for a 7pm curtain. Center orchestra row M. I was delighted. So yeah, StubHub can occasionally have amazing deals depending on the misfortune of others.

Never had that happen, but easily avoidable if you select instant download tickets, since those PDFs are already uploaded and you get them immediately.
Hi! I hope you won't mind a general StubHub question. If I were to sell tickets there, and I would like them to be instantly downloadable, what format do the tickets need to be in? PDF?

Yes. You upload the PDFs as you are listing them.
I picked up a last minute ticket on StubHub yesterday for last night's performance. Great seat in row C of the balcony, and I paid less than face value. This was my fourth time seeing the show (saw it once with Bette and twice with Donna). I wanted to see it with Bette one more time before she left.
WOW. Both Bette and the production are so wonderful. This is truly one of the best things I have ever seen on Broadway. "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" never ceases to bring tears of joy to my eyes. Bette was firing on all cylinders last night. Lots of fun riffs and vocal flourishes and touches. Lots of ad libs during the dinner scene. I am so glad I got to see her truly amazing performance one more time before she departs. I already have my ticket to see Bernadette in January!
I just add to your comments about the costumes in Sunday Clothes. I remember thinking it was strange that everyone was going on about the costumes...after all, they are time period - how original can they actually BE? But you're right - that number squashed any naysaying I could possibly utter. It was one of the most stunning moments every on stage.
