Today was my first day at school and our fall musical was announced; it's Hello Dolly. I am not to familiar with this show. What parts are good for a male with a tenor voice? Is there any good songs by this male? Just please give me all the info you can thanks!

Cornelius is the role to go for. This is such a fun show ! One of the best experiences I have ever had, it was summer stock in a tent with Vickie Lawrence as Dolly. What a hoot. Cornelieus was played originally by Charles Nelson Reilly on B-Way, and played by Michael "The Phantom" Crawford in the movie.
Definately check out the movie for Cornelius' role, but ignore Streisand's Dolly - she is decent, but was WAY TOO YOUNG for this casting. Even Jerry Herman admits to this one. Good luck!

When I watch the Streisand film these days -- and admittedly, it has its pleasures, particularly the location train sequences during "Put On Your Sunday Clothes" -- I think of how great Bette Midler would be in the role NOW. She's just the right age, and could act it, comedically, to the rafters. And picture her in the wigs and costumes. She' got the look, the right ethnic sense, of course -- why doesn't someone try that with her?

Funny you should say that about the divine one Auggie - ABC is doing two more of their TV movie musicals - Mame, with Cher, and Hello Dolly with Bette Midler. I think there is another film in the process as well for them, but for the life of me can't think of it! AAARRGH!

Cornelius is a particularly well written role (for a musical) - part romantic hero, part comedy character role. Book writer Michael Stewart wisely lifted much of the dialogue directly from Thornton Wilder's original play.
Cornelius is suh a great role to watch as well. Good Luck!
