I just got back from living in Paraguay for 2 years, and I am totally out of the loop with music(especially musical theater. Let me know what cast recordings have come out since 2005 that you guys really like please.

GREY GARDENS OBCR (already closed) and LEGALLY BLONDE OBCR (hopefully runs forever) and SPRING AWAKENING (awesome!).

That must have been awesome living in Paraguay. (circumstances permiting)

Get the revival cast recording of "Company" and the Cast Recording of "Spring Awakening". Also, "The Color Purple" is good.

I was a missionary for my church. It was amazingly difficult yet wonderful at the same time. I adore those people, they are fantastic.

Let's see...off the top of my head...
The Light in the Piazza
Grey Gardens
Curtains
Dreamgirls and Hairspray soundtracks
Sweeney Todd and Company Revivals
Drowsy Chaperone
Mary Poppins

Michael Buble- Call Me Irresponsible (okay, that's not Broadway, but it ROCKS!)

That's all I can think of right now! Hope that helps!

God Bless,

Don't forget to check out The Wedding Singer it is very cute and one of my favorites! I don't know exactly if it came out before you left or not but also Caroline or Change is worth a listen.

The Pirate Queen is worth a listen if you're a Boublil and Schönberg fan.

If you don't have "Caroline or Change" I would get that also. But that was 2004 so you may already own it.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

No internet in Paraguay? Bull crap! They also have cell phones there. It was irresponsible of you to NOT keep up with Broadway bits while you were away. There are TONS of people on here that don't live in the US and keep up with New York theater. The internet is GLOBAL. I repeat: GLOBAL!!!!

Oy!
