Good morning!
I'll be in the city in two weeks, and I need some help deciding between a few shows. I'm seeing Come From Away, Great Comet, and Bandstand for sure. We're deciding between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Groundhog Day, or Anastasia. What would be the best overall show to see?
Thanks!
All are mediocre at best. Of those 3, I'd recommend Groundhog Day.
Groundhog Day is not mediocre; it's excellent. 100% that.
(Excellent picks otherwise, BTW!)
I this order
Groundhog
Anastasia
Charlie
I haven't seen Charlie; reviews have been mixed at best, but it seems to be selling well nonetheless.
I've seen Anastasia and Groundhog Day.
I thought Anastasia had one or two memorable songs and one great, albeit brief, use of projections, but I'd just as soon have my money back.
I loved Groundhog Day so much that I went back a second time. The score/lyrics run the gamut from amusing silliness to dark humor to soul-searching. Andy Karl's performance is brilliant.

I got 5th & 6th row center orchestra for around $90 each. I bought them an hour or less before curtain time. I'm sure you can get seats farther back for cheaper.
I highly recommend Groundhog Day, it's the only show this season I've seen more than once or had the desire to listen to the cast recording of.
Groundhog Day is one of the most complicated and interesting pieces of theater I have seen in forty years of Broadway. The other two will tour and remain in the regional rep. This may not. And it certainly will not tour with this degree of stage works. Clever stagecraft at work... and Andy Karl.
