"There is a black woman inside the soul of every gay man."
What's that from? I can't remember, and it's driving me crazy!

It's from Bare, Fiction Writer.
I think a gay guy Muse would be absolutely hilarious. And I completely agree with Chris Sieber as Hercules. He's definitely a hunk.

Actually, anybody remember James Royce Edwards (Mamma Mia! Tour, Altar Boyz)? I think he'd make a fantastic Hercules, either young or fully grown.

My friend and I are planning on doing the show or at least trying. It needs more music though. The movie only has about 6 songs. Its our pipe dream show to do.
Meg: Susan Egan
Hercules: Christopher Sieber or David Ayers
Muses: LaChanze, Ramona Keller, Dequinna Moore

No to Sutton because I can't see her in the role. It would be like casting her as Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
Hercules: Christopher Sieber
Meg: Susan Egan
Hades: Jonathan Freeman or Peter Kapetan
Pain and Panic: Hunter Foster and Jonathan Rayson
The three muses: Sasha Allen the rest..........I don't care.
Raul Esparza: Hades
Sutton Foster: Meg
David Hyde Peirce:Pain
Natan Lane: Panic
Matthew Morrison:Hercules (if he bulks up some.)
Marc Kudich: Zeus
OR
maybe use Nathan Lane as Phil
brent barrett(or me)as hades
the original movie muses (disney has enough money to afford it)
susan egan as meg
matt caplan and jonathan rayson as pain and panic

I thought about Idina as Meg to but it wouldn't work!
Hmm, she has the look, but I dunno. Something aout Idina's stage prescense and demeanor doesn't really scream Disney musical heroine to me.
Then again, she did play Amneris...
MEG = Susan Eagan
or better yet...MEG=Meg(aka me)
Ruthie Henshall as Meg? Maybe abit too old, but I can see her look as Meg...
I don't think it would play well onstage. The music in the film is mostly quite good, but there's so little of it, and look what happened when they tried to expand Tarzan's score.
Also, getting the muses on Broadway would be sort of redundant. They were animated to look a good deal like the women who provided the singing voices, all of whom are Broadway veterans with the exception of Vaneese Thomas (Lillias White, Cheryl Freeman, La Chanze, and Roz Ryan were the others). It's like it's already been done. And frankly, La Chanze would hardly take a bit part like that right after winning the Tony.
Christopher Sieber for sure! Sutton Foster would be PERFECT! Now I want to see it!!! HA!

I agree, Ready. Maybe Carole Shelley, Elaine Stritch, and Patti LuPone. Three old crusty women perfect for the role.
matthew morrison has always reminded me of hercules w/his adorable little curly head :) why do gastons have to play hercules? his voice wasnt that deep in the movie, to me it was more pop

this has always screamed out to me that it would be the best disney musical they could choose. (other than aida obviously).
i think raul as hades would be hilarious. also, it would never happen, but imagine bea arthur, betty white and rue mcclanahan as the fates. hilariousness would ensue. i actually think ashley brown would be a good meg, and she is disney's darling of the moment.
Chris Sieber or Cheyanne Jackson would rock my world as Hercules or how about John Hill. I would love to see Sutton's take on Meg but Susan would be amazing. And Harvey Fierstein as Phil the goat man.
okay I thought of someone else as Meg Shoshana Bean I think she would be great cause she could riff on some of the songs like I Won't say I'm in love. Or Sherie Renee' Scott as Meg lemme know what you guys think
A big NO to Shoshana Bean as Meg.
Hercules: Cheyenne Jackson
Meg: Susan Egan or Tina Maddigan
Hades: Peter Kapetan or Jonathan Pryce (they would be FUNNY)
Pain and Panic: Matt Caplan and Hunter Foster
The Fates: Carole Shelley, Janet Carroll, and Rue McLanahan
The Muses: La Chanze, Lillias White, Shayna Steele, Roz Ryan (I don't remember how many muses there are)
Phil: Harvey Fierstein

john lithgow as hades
^That would be fantastic. i was actually thinking about this the other day as well as a stage version of the HunchBack of Notre Dame. A Little off topic but does anyone have the karaoke to "I can go the distance" form hercules?
Why no to Shoshana Bean I think her riffs would be great for I Won't Say I'm in Love
