She did OK with it. Was it an original song from CAMP or was it a pre-existing song?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Im not sure but I love this girl! She sings Im Changing from Dreamgirls and then Here's where I Stand from Camp.Even though she is not the best singer I love a little musical theater thrown in the competition. Where was she last year for that Broadway week that was awful on Idol?

That was Lisa. She's awesome.I think that was a pre-existing song.

Am I mistaken, or was Lisa the one who was in The Lion King when she was younger?

Actually, that song was written specifically for the film. And I thought Lisa did really well with it.

Was it? All the judges accused her of doing an old song. I thought she did a great job, but I only saw the second half of it. She was miles better than Paris, for whom they apparently have nothing but praise and whose song felt horribly dated and wrong (and off pitch).

Is there a soundtrack I can get for this song? Like where I can sing it?

I think that when they meant "old song" they meant a song meant for an older person, not a song that is old.

But then it still doesn't make any sense...because if it was written specifically for the film, then it was written for a teenager.

"Here's Where I Stand" was composed by Lynn Ahrens and Michael Gore, and first appeared in the 2003 film Camp. With the help of Stephen Flaherty, Ahrens has written musicals such as Once on This Island, Ragtime, Seussical, and Anastasia. They also wrote a pair of new songs for Chita Rivera's recent Broadway show. Meanwhile, Gore has written scores for a bunch of films, including Broadcast News, Pretty in Pink, Terms of Endearment, and Fame.

Yes, but outside of the context of that film it sounds like a song someone much older should be singing. I was initially thrilled at her choice of song, but as the performance went on it just made her sound old. There was no reason she needed to sing such a little known song. It's almost as if she sang something horribly inappropriate age-wise, like "I'm Still Here" to use an extreme example.

I like Lisa too, but she needs to do an upbeat song and stat. She's quickly becoming boring and one-note. She looked great tonight though, and will sail through on Thursday thanks to Ayla, Melissa, and Kinnik giving weak performances.

Lisa is so beyond bland and boring. She RUINED "I am Changing" and she should be cut off from this board for even attempting to sing that song! NOW she sings "Here's where i stand" UGH!!!! My baby cousin could sing circles around her in her sleep.

it was also sung on Australian Idol 2, by Casey Donovan, who actually sounds okay, not great, but okay.
