Why did they bother making a cast recording if it was only open for 13 performances?
Just curious.

Most likely for licensing purposes. Shows with a cast recording are more likely to be produced elsewhere
Chances for future regional and amateur productions are increased with a cast album. Ultimately though it usually just comes down to the fact that someone was willing to pay for it. Glory Days got a cast album and that show closed on opening night. The number of performances doesn't really have anything to do with it.

Isn't this the show that closed a few days early to finance the cast recording? (early being extremely relative)
speaking of rights and royalties. do they exist for this show?

Caught this show in Boston during its out of town try-out. Not perfect, but I really loved this show. The score was pretty good, the performances were great, and the set was outstanding. I think their marketing was weak. The show had potential and I'm sad it went too soon, but I'm lucky I caught it.
Now I need to find my cast recording of it and listen. It's been a while.
Preservation of course!
