So I missed who got kicked off DWTS so i went to www.abc.com and saw an advertisment for auditions for a show on ABC revolving around the "phenom" of High School Musical. As I began to read the info they provided I realized...that it said nothing about what the show was about...atleast nothing I picked up on...anyone know the deal?

oh boy...
I've lost all will to live
Like I mentioned in the thread that got deleted, or whatever, will this show take place in hell? If so, that's the only way I'll watch it.
^ Or if the High School Musical creators are tortured.
Maybe the prize will be a date with Zac
ugh. he's not that good (look wise or singing wise in my opinion.)

Why is an arts related reality show such a turn off to you all? I don't understand what harm it does. Honestly, would you like more shows like MOMENT OF TRUTH and MY DAD IS BETTER THAN YOUR DAD? I welcome any show that tries to make the arts cool for kids... sorry.. even if it is cheesey... it is something for them to aspire to beyond Paris Hilton and taking bitches back to the crib to bang.
See, reality television to me, for the most part is stupid. The only 3 I ever gladly watch are Dancing with the Stars, Project Runway, and America's Next Top Model. I still can't believe 1 stupid made for tv movie is getting this much attention and popularity. What's sickening is that I'm 23, and I know people my age who enjoy it. I don't mean like, "oh this is good for kids." They actually get excited about it. But then I can't really say much else because this girl dresses like she's 12 still, and also worked and bought crap from the prostitot store, Libby Lu, when she was in her 20's.
me being the age they're targeting for this show, i'm not a huge fan of it. just because i'm not a fan of HSM.
however, i'm excited for the Legally Blonde show.
just because one of my friends tried out and was cut in the last round before the show. sad, but it seems cool.
this is why I think the whole HSM thing, on this board, is funny.
many of you freak out and have this reaction of DEATH or something... yet, many of you get excited by even stupider things that are on Broadway right now. or that are associated with theatre.
personally, I don't like High School Musical but I will support this -- what is so wrong with getting more people interested in the art of SONG and DANCE?
my sweethearts, that's what Broadway is.
It's what you're all obsessed with. High School Musical just brings it in a different medium. It's still the same concept.
You all are too funny sometimes.
See, there is nothing wrong with kids being interested in theater, but High School Musical is the epitome of musical theater. There is nothing really theatrical about it. The songs are too bubblegum pop. Personally, none of the actors in it are the best singers on the planet either, which is what I hope to pretty much get with theater. Whether it is regional or a school musical, I expect to get the best that they can find.

I find it odd that there is a TV show based on HSM aimed at high school kids, as the majority of the HSM fan base is little girls 6-12 years old. The reason the movie is so popular is that it plays to a fantasy for these kids. It is what little kids dream high school and being a teen ager is, to a point. It certinly is not "cool" with most people who have actually been to high school.

Anyone else afraid that the reason the grand prize is "secret" is because the winners will play the leads when it opens on... I just can't say it, but you know what I mean.
SOMEBODY KILL ME PLEASE! OH SOMBODY KILL ME PLEASSSE! I'M ON MY KNEES, PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE, KILL ME! I WANNA DIE! PUT A BULLET IN MY HEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!
Yeah, if High School Musical ever made it to Broadway, I'm gonna move to Sweden. Okay, there are other reasons I would before this, but this would just add to the list. LMAO!!!!!!!!

Wow, the one thing worse then a claymate and a potthead would be a OMGHSMhead!
as one who hates HSM, I find all of your reactions more annoying than HSM.
if it comes to Broadway then it comes to Broadway. it potentially expands the Broadway audience (something LEGALLY BLONDE + SPRING AWAKENING has done), offers more jobs to young performers, and keeps the teen age group engaged in a positive message through the medium of song and dance.
What is so hard to understand? Can't get over your diva-ness to support a good influence for your kids?
