This was passed along to me from a friend who saw it from a friend.
The job posting is for an actor's assistant. Check out the salary and duties. And the description of the actor plus the contact email. I don't know how to post a picture or else I'd post a screenshot, but here's the link:

Apparently, the listing has been changed since the original posting so that it's more anonymous.

But perhaps she should learn that once it's out there, it's out there for good!

TF's former asst. had to leave for mental health reasons after repeatedly watching her boss rehearse "Rose's Turn."

Posted: 10/16/12 at 12:17pmThe original wording only used female pronouns in reference to the assistant-to-be.

I believe the only feminine pronouns used are "her" in reference to the actor, not the assistant-to-be:
"During the run of any theatre or film projects, Assistant will prepare actor for each engagement, settle her in her dressing room or apartment, and pack up actor’s belongings at the end of the engagement."

I will bet it is a $10/hour flat rate -- no overtime pay. I see a lawsuit in the making and a big fine from the New York State Department of Labor.

By lunch -- does she mean a can of generic tuna and a couple of matzo crackers?

Posted: 10/16/12 at 1:17pmWell the job description lists "light cooking" so I'd assume whatever it is, youre cooking it yourself.

Sounds very similar to the way many nannies are paid.

Posted: 10/16/12 at 1:25pmmaybe for lunch you can do the tuna and matzo and sample some yourself, but for dinner you have to cook and you don't get to reap any of the benefits.

Posted: 10/16/12 at 1:38pmFor assistants paid a weekly salary, about how much does it work out to per hour? I know the $10 per hour sounds meager, but not knowing how much assistants get paid and assuming ridiculously long hours, I wonder if the net effect is significant.

Lighten up guys, it's only a part-time job.
TF seems like a character that gets bumped off on L&O:CI.

Posted: 10/16/12 at 1:58pmMaybe she needs someone to shave her before a red carpet premiere. Should I post the picture? LOL

I misread that as "shave her red carpet"
Heavens to Betsy!
If the assistant is lucky and sneaky and possibly but maybe not but then again maybe gay, they might get an Associate Producer credit on a future B'way production

I've never worked as an assistant, but I have many friends who've done it. Specifically for old female New York types like Tovah. (Please note that I don't necessarily mean Jewish.)
All of them, and I mean all of them, were severely underpaid. Somewhere in the $10-$15 an hour territory to do a laundry list of ridiculous things. I don't know why rich people think they'll get great help for cheap rates. You can make the same amount of money at FAO Schwartz or Best Buy.
That being said, I find it pretty hilarious that this was on Playbill.
