The horific little dance marathon of a jukebox musical "Hot Feet" is closing on Sunday 7-23. Playbill.com has all the info.

While it isn't exactly a gem, I found myself enjoying it. I really got into the dance numbers.
Glad to see it go, though. It's about time.

This Sunday? Wow... I thought they'd at least have it open for another week just to get more people who want to see it before it closes...
Best of luck to the talented dancers in their careers
They should have closed it earlier when it started to have 30% capacity.
Though it wasn't the best show, I am glad I saw it. I love EW&F's music and the band and the singers were very good.

so what do you supposed will go into the theatre?
Here's the article for anyone interested.

Hopefully, the talented dancers will be employed again quickly and also, hopefully, the creators will take a musical theater course.
Isn't "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" going in there?
Grinch is slated to start in October in that theatre.
Aw, this makes me sad. I'll definitely be there on Sunday.
It makes me very sad, but from what I've heard of the show, it shouldn't be on Broadway.
Best of luck to the actors, stage managers, and all the crew on finding new jobs!
Well, I wouldn't say "as expected" - I mean it was "expected" to close about three days after it opened; how it has hung on this long is beyond me.
I actually heard the cast recording is being recorded early next week. I'm not exactly sure why; but perhaps they are planning a tour.
Doing a cast album seems strange. I mean, come on, it's a dance musical where most of the songs sound just like the original versions. I don't think any of the new songs White wrote are the attraction here, nor are they particularly well sung.
I did enjoy the dancing when I saw it, but great movement is just no excuse for a terrible script and poor storytelling.
Well the same could probably have been said for MOVIN OUT, JERSEY BOYS or any other jukebox musicals where they are trying to dublicate a pre-existing sound; if they have the money and the label to produce it - I say, why not?
I will buy it. The music was the best thing about the show. I own just about everything EW&F has ever recorded, but I did enjoy the music at the show. The band and the vocalists were really good.
How this lasted longer than Lestat is just beyond me.
while i won't be buying the recording, i like that there WILL be a recording. but i think that's just the theatre nerd in me wanting it to be done for preservation issues
I never understood why they made a cast album of Dancin' when the show was all visuals & dance using pre existing music. I passed on that one & will on this as well - especially since I never saw it
After DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, it is believed that THE PIRATE QUEEN will open next at the Hilton.
There was never a cast recording of DANCIN'...
I was just gonna say that.
Maybe he means CONTACT; but the recording of that show was a no-brainer - it was a huge hit, and they didn't even have to pay the cast, just compile the music they already had permission to use onto a single CD. If people loved the show, why wouldn't they like having all that music on a single disc?
I never begrudge a cast recording of any show; I think people somehow in their heads equate when a show is "not" recorded, it is in favor of something less deserving getting preservation instead.
It of course doesn't work like that.
