I've been to every single one of them. Certainly some more than others, but after scanning the list I've been to each of them at least twice.
All of them, including the Morosco, the original Helen Hayes, Rialto, the Edison, and (I think!) the Bijou.
I have been to all of them.
24/40 - Not bad for a tourist!

.. I didn't realize I haven't been to more since I have seen so many shows.
Also a tourist, but have been to 39/40, I haven't been to the August Wilson, no need to see Jersey Boys, when I can as easily see it at home in London.
This is a fun topic! About five or six years ago, a friend and I started counting and realized we were both close to visiting all of them, so we had a good-natured race going on. I keep track of every show I see in a spreadsheet - yes, I'm a nerd, but it's so helpful when topics like this come up!
My first show was PHANTOM OF THE OPERA in 2004 - still my only time in the Majestic.
I won the race when I saw THE LITTLE MERMAID at the Lunt-Fontanne in 2009 (there were 39 open theaters at the time)
When the Sondheim opened and I saw BYE BYE BIRDIE, I officially saw a show in all 40 Broadway theaters.
I'm not sure which theater I have been in the most times. Probably the Nederlander from all the times I saw RENT, but there are other theaters where I have seen almost every show that played there since I started attending theater.
My favorite theater is the Lyceum. Not only has it held some of my favorite shows, but you can smell the history when you walk in (not in a gross way). I love it. And the sightlines are good; even in the back of the balcony, you don't feel miles away.

ps. I know like half of those are misspelled but I don't feel like spell checking them. haha
I have been to all but the New Amsterdam, American Airlines, August Wilson, and Samuel Friedman - but I'm seeing "The Assembled Parties" tomorrow, so I'll be down to three.
How the hell do all of you know which theaters you've been to (as opposed to which shows)?? Thank god for LYNX71's post-- running through his list allowed me to tally everything up.
I'm at 39, having not yet been to the American Airlines/Selwyn.
BUT do I get extra credit for the Mark Hellinger, where I spent 3 months in the fall of 1988 struggling to make the sets for LEGS DIAMOND work?
All of them, including the Edison and the Mark Hellinger (LEGS DIAMOND, its last show).
However, I can claim to have been in the Winter Garden without having seen CATS or MAMMA MIA, the Majestic without having seen PHANTOM, the Nederlander without having seen RENT or NEWSIES, and the Gershwin without having seen WICKED.
However, unlike Jordan, I'm just not that cool. I'm just that old.
So far I've seen shows at 28/40, but will add the Palace and Music Box to the list this summer bringing me up to 30/40. Considering I live in NC and don't get up to NYC that often - I'm pleased with (almost) 30!
My theatres still to-do list is:
1. Ambassador Theatre
2. American Airlines Theatre
3. Belasco Theatre
4. Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre
5. Brooks Atkinson Theatre
6. Ethel Barrymore Theatre
7. Helen Hayes Theatre
8. Nederlander Theatre
9. New Amsterdam Theatre
10. Samuel J. Friedman Theatre
I salute Hushpuppy, seconding his motion:
I was at the Winter Garden for Angela's GYPSY and Zero's FIDDLER revival.
I was at the Majestic for Harry Goz's FIDDLER (1st run) and Glynis' A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.
I was at the URIS/ Gershwin for SWEENEY TODD (1st run) and SEESAW IN '73.
I was going to say no-one in their right mind visited the Nederlander in those days, but then I realized I saw Glenda Jackson's STRANGE INTERLUDE there in '85.

I'm at 39 theaters and 199 different productions. Still missing the Ambassador. Saw Chicago several times before it took up lodging there. Keep debating going back once more just for the last theater, but...it has to close EVENTUALLY, right?

Took me 25 years but I have been in all of them including the Edison and the Mark Hellinger!
36/40 for me... Surprising, I have never attended shows at the Ambassador, Brooks Atkinson, Belasco or Music Box Theatres. The Broadway house I have been to most often is the St. James.
My shows also included seeing SUGAR BABIES at the Mark Hellinger (now the Times Square Church)and the 1977 revival of HAIR in its original home the Biltmore, before it was remodel into the Friedman.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Most visited: the Walter Kerr (13 shows), followed by the Beaumont (12) and the Schoenfeld & Atkinson (11 each); least visited: the Nederlander, Majestic, and Winter Garden (1 each).
