I'm missing the Broadhurst, the Helen Hayes, the Friedman, and Studio 54—so 36/40 for me! I already have tix for She Loves Me in the spring, so that takes care of Studio 54... I'll have to snag the other three sometime soon as well

This was one of the last theaters that I visited because I had no desire to see Jersey Boys. Fifteen minutes in, I was completely enjoying myself, and by the end, I was standing on my feet dancing with everyone else. Definitely one of my favorite surprises on Broadway.
And thank you all for helping me to feel a bit normal-- most of my friends and family think that I am nuts to travel all the way to NYC four or five times a year (often for a long weekend, seeing 4 shows in 48 hours). In 2015, I saw 22 shows, and I wear that as a badge of honor. I don't really drink, don't do drugs, and have a good job. This is my one outlet, and I LOVE it. I already have trips planned in February, March, July, and September. :)

Wow Jayar you and I are definitely in the same boat. I don't really spend my money on much else, and I fly to New York a lot to binge on shows. People always have only negative or shady things to say about it like "So that's all you do when you go to New York is see shows?" "How much does a weekend like that cost?". These questions may seem innocent, but the tone makes the questions more like "That sounds incredibly boring and lame to go all the way to New York and see a bunch of plays. Why would you do that?" and "How could you possibly afford a trip like that, let alone a few times a year???"

Still waiting for long running shows to move on for most of the remainder. Still need to see:
Majestic (it'll be a while)
Ambassador (same)
Gershwin & Minskoff (also - but I'm in no hurry to see these)
August Wilson
...and I still need to visit but haven't simply because it hasn't happened yet
Music Box (seeing Shuffle Along in May)
Winter Garden
American Airlines
and now the Hudson.

I have been to every theatre that is currently operating, plus the Mark Hellinger, the original Morosco, the original Helen Hayes, the Biltmore, the ANTA where Man of La Mancha opened, the Henry Miller (now the location of the Sondheim, but not the same theatre, and the George Abbott. Never got to the Ziegfeld before they tore it down for the NY Hilton.
My favorites: the Lunt-Fontanne, Harry Hershfield, the Music Box. Least favorite: the Minskoff, the Gershwin unless I am in the first 10 rows (although it does have the Theatre Hall of Fame), and the August Wilson.

Mark bear, do you really think Phantom, Chicago,Lion King and wicked are all so bad that you will flat out refuse to ever see them forever and ever ? How can you be so sure you won't like them ? Remember, at one time, they were all the hip new fresh shows.

Certainly not. With the exception of "Lion King" which I saw at the New Amsterdam, I've seen them on the road. In the case of "Chicago," I've seen it on tour twice now. However, when traveling to NY, I prefer to see something new in the limited slots available to me.
...and sorry to tell you, the one show of the above that I saw on tour (actually a sit down production in SF) and have no desire to ever see again is Phantom. ...Although I occasionally will recommend it to certain people with the assurance that the production is well-maintained and still a spectacle.
