For the Chicago Tryout of Dirty Dancing
"The first 20 patrons in line carrying a watermelon at the Cadillac Palace box office (151 W. Randolph) on Monday, August 4 at 10 a.m. will receive a pair of tickets to DIRTY DANCING.*"

Who wants a picture of these ladies with watermellons?
Correct me if I am wrong but DIRTY DANCING is not a Broadway-bound show, so the Chicago & Boston run is not a try-out, its just a touring company like WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND from last year!

I don't get it.
Partially because you misspelled watermelons in your subject title.
I just verified it.. Its a National Tour of DIRTY DANCING and not a Broadway bound show!

The National Tour will premiere September 2, 2008 at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph St.), as part of the Broadway In Chicago Season Series.

I don't get it either. Do watermelons have something to do with the show?
I don't get it.
Is there a watermelon reference in the show?
I'm taking an eggroll down to the St. James tommorow and see if that works.
and yes, I want to see a pic of those people carrying their melons.
What do they do with all the watermelons afterward?
Watertinis?
burp....
Yeah. I think the main character Barry carried a watermelon in the movie?

If I lived closer, DEFINITELY.

This made me laugh. The stage version is word for word from the movie.
Ha really?
Tag, is the stage version any good?
I loved it when i saw it in London.
According to an email about this, it is to also commemorate National Watermelon Day.
hmmm... looks like I might have to do this... The question is how do I schlep a watermelon from Union Station to the theatre?
More that one chorus girl has been cast by the size of her melons. At least this time they're admitting it!
Next the guys will have to arrive with a zucchini.
