How Often Do You Go To The Theater?

Thank god for student rush or I would never see shows.
I saw about 6 shows last semester. All of them were rushed or lottery with the exception of Sweeny Todd. But its Sweeny Todd, so the extra spending was so allowed!

I could not miss Patti Lupone and her tuba- a theatre sin.

Um...I'm in a theatre almost every night of my life- rehearsals. But I see probably 20 productions a year. 4 at school, 6 or 7 in NYC over Spring Break, and about 10 while on breaks at home etc.

A show once every one to two weeks is good for me, financially and mentally.

Not enough!! A weekend jaunt every 4-6 weeks then we squeeze in 4 or 5 if the timing is right.

Probably once a month which is not as much as I'd like. I've been really busy lately anyway. Damn schoolwork/exams! It also depends on rehearsals, etc.

I live in Arizona.
I try to visit NYC once or twice a year and see as many shows as possible.

In addition, some of the tour groups pass through Phoenix and Tucson so I go then.

I did travel to LA to see the Drowsy Chaperone!

I envy all of you who live in or near NYC.

I'm always rehearsing for something now, so it conflicts with performance schedules.

Last year, I would go 2-4 times a week. This year, maybe once every two weeks.

In terms of New York theater, like twice a month where I fit in as many shows as possible. When it's local, definitely more often.

Since my dad is the type that can't stand spending money and hoards coupons, and it's hell getting into the city from my town (though it's 45 min. away in central Jersey), we go maybe once every couple of months, unless I can find a good discount. I'm seeing Sweeney in February, Rent in March, and probably Wicked in May or June. The only reason - Sweeney is in place of a 4-day vacation, I found $60 tickets for Rent, and Wicked will be for my birthday.

The problem is my family. My brother's up at college and never wants to come home, my mom isn't exactly passionate about theater, and my dad, while he loves Broadway, works weekends all the time, so we rarely go. My parents are thinking about letting me go see shows with friends when I'm a little bit older, picking us up in the theater afterwards, but until then, I won't be able to go much.

I used to go about every 6 months to see a show.At the end of last year however, I went every other week and each of the last three weeks to end the year.I will have that type os frequency starting the week after next:

And I am seeing Bebe Newirth,The Rolling Stones,Bon Jovi,Queen & Paul Rodgers, and Billy Joel 3 times in concert in February and March.I will also be going top one of the Anthony Rapp Book Signings in March so I will be very busy.All I can say is thank goodness for TKTS and Broadwaybox.com.
