Really? PHANTOM is available on TDF right now, and I have definitely seen some of the others you mention. SPIDER-MAN and PORGY AND BESS were both occasionally up there during early previews, though not so much anymore.
According to tdf.org, membership is $30 for New Yorkers and $12 for those outside NYC (must live more than 100 miles away).
Sorry, Phantom is there today, but my point stands that the selection on TDF is not as broad as what's available at the booth (for higher prices).
And yes, the membership is usually $30, but you can often get a discount code with $5 on RetailMeNot.com.

Thanks for that information, ghostlight2. I am going to check that website out for myself because I don't qualify for TDF otherwise.
Here's a little secret: Union members also includes members of the freelancers union, which is free to join.
I'm employed full-time in a non-union writing/editing job and haven't been a student for about 10 years -- yet I still qualify for TDF because I'm in the freelancers union, as I do a few freelance gigs here and there.
