I know that they sell student rush tickets two hours prior to showtime. I was just wondering if they are hard to get. I have heard nothing but great things about this show and the casting seems nothing short of amazing and I would love to see it.
You've heard nothing but great things about this show? Have you read any of the WOTV thread on here? I'm shocked you missed all of that.
Sorry, cannot be helpful with rush info. I see the show on Friday and in spite of all of the bashing that has been going on here, I'm very excited.
I said that part almost tongue in cheek. I am well aware that there are many a great show that gets bashed here. Shows that are generally liked by anyone who isn't a BWW poster and critics as well. I have learned that when I am reading opinions about a show here, I take them with a grain of salt.
I got student rush at noon for yesterday's matinee. Orchestra, partial view. There were only a few other people there, and many of the pairs of the far side aisles were empty, meaning there were probably more rush tickets that didn't sell.
How was partial view?
All I missed was about 2/3 of the projection screen, no action.
Partial view wasn't that bad. Granted, I am of the glass half full mindset that something will get in the way of my enjoyment only if I let it. But, regardless, it wasn't TOO bad. The stage is high and a lot of the action took place center stage. So, while there were things that you missed, it wasn't that big a deal.
For what it's worth though I did end up craning my neck a little to see some things here and there, and there was a middle aged woman who took it to herself to stand directly to my left ( not blocking my already obstructed view). And, when the usher came by to whisper to her that she couldn't stand, they got into a bit of a whispering argument with the patron saying that she is entitled to see etc.
This has me wonder, is it just today's world and people's sense of entitlement. Or do people not realize that if your seats are going to be partial view you will either be told that via telecharge or by the box office. Yet, people still manage to have this childish urge to complain when things aren't going their way. I just don't get it.
I had the same experience as vodkastinger. The kind man at the Box Office sold me my ticket earlier than two hours prior for the matinee, and I had no complaints about my orchestra right $21.50 seat.
Hm. I'm tempted to just rush "Women," but I've just had horrible problems with partial view before. It sort of lessens my enjoyment of a show, when I can't see everything. I'm trying to figure out the worse attendance day, so maybe I can snag a cheap ticket and then just move over.
Same experience -- got to the theatre early to ask if student rush was available, and the (probably same) nice man just sold me a ticket right then and there. All the way orchestra left, but only missed a lot of projections.
What rows in the orchestra have they been selling for student rush?
I had...G, H maybe? Again, all the way to the side.
can you only get 1 ticket per id or 2?
Only 1.
I think it's actually two.
Did it change? It was only one when I tried it for an early preview.
A friend picked up tickets for the both of us about a week ago.
Maybe they changed the policy because there are not enough people buying the student seats. But it was originally 1 per ID.
I think the official policy is still ONE per ID but, the Box Office gentleman sold me two after asking "well, how many do you need?"
Does anyone know if they put seats on the side for student rush? I know that some shows do that. It looks like it is completely sold out for next weekend and I kind of wanted to try for it, but don't know if it's even worth it.
I rushed the Halloween matinée and it was sold out, so I couldn't move over as I had hoped. The stage is high so I missed a little action and projections but I'm not complaining.
