I'm seeing it in Denver on August 3 (before its official opening night there)- I'll post my impressions afterwards. As is probably true for many Disney fans, it's one of my favorite Disney movies, and even if everything else about the show sucks, it will be fun to hear the familiar songs performed live, so I'm willing to take the risk.

thanks for posting that article!
i found that really interesting, actually. the sets sound great, and i think the heelys will work fine too.

but the actors wearing some of the fish on their heads makes me a little iffy...and wearing camo or black for the rest of their body? hmm, should be interesting to see

I just can't believe they're using sneakers for these outfits. But, hey, Melchior in SPRING AWAKENING uses Snoop Dog shoes, so we never can tell.

I love THE LITTLE MERMAID - it was one of my favorite Disney movies, and Ariel is one of my favorite princesses. I'm sad that my absolute favorite Disney movie and princess' (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST) show is closing to make way for it.

It says they are using modified Heelys which could mean many things. I highly doubt you will see actual sneakers. It just sounds like the footwear will have a wheel built into it.

I'm not sure if it's been discussed or not, but does anyone know if Ursula is going to resemble the character in the animated film, or if they're going in a whole new direction with it?
