*Joseph...
But yes I own it. I don't own the previous album so I have nothing to compare it to, but I think it is quite good. If you like the music then I'd say it's definitely worth it.

I've posted my review previously, but here it is again... hope this helps.
I got my tour cast recording of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the mail today, and I just wanted to post about it in case anyone was wondering the same things that I was. Personally, I don't have any issues with either Patrick or Amy. I enjoyed Amy's performance very much and Patrick has some really great moments on this CD. I especially enjoyed his rock edge to Joseph's "Who's the Theif" lines. The supporting cast is all acceptable. The orchestrations are not the same ones that were used for the LA, London and Canadian revival cast recordings. I could be wrong but, I'm pretty sure those all used the same orchestral tracks. These tracks are new.
It's not a complete recording as it is missing the "One More Angel" dance music and the apache dance music in "Those Cannan Days". It's also missing the second verse in "Go, Go, Go Joseph" as well as some other small cuts sprinkled throughout the recording like "Give Me My Colored Coat". That song is listed as being included, but the track ends with the reprise of "Any Dream Will Do" and no finale or megamix. it clocks in at 61 minutes. in terms of completeness the DVD soundtrack is still the most complete recording. this CD doesn't come with lyrics, but it does have a lot of color production photos so that's cool. if you want another Joseph CD on your shelf this one isn't all that bad. If you NEED another Joseph CD then by all means check this out. The actual soundtrack still includes more material though. but, it's neat that they recorded a national tour.

I think it's wonderful. Get it for Amy Adam's sweet voice, if for nothing else. I do agree that Patrick has his great moments, I really like his Close Every Door, although he does at times have very weird vowel sounds.
Although, it is worth the money. If you are a fan of Joseph, definatly check it out.

Posted: 4/10/06 at 9:55amI prefer the movie soundtrack (the one with Donny Osmond and Maria Friedman) over all the others.

I didn't even know they made a CD! One of my best friends from high school is on this tour! I got to see it a few months ago. Woo hoo! I'm off to buy it right now!

There is only one JOSEPH... album in my opinion and that is the original as no one can sing The Narrator better than Laurie. Granted I am biased but she is untouchable in that role as well.
