How long till Soul Doctor Closes?

Okay. I realize that a show closing is not a bonus, in fact IMO I find it depressing. It's sad when good actors loose there jobs. From what I have heard from reviews and BWW forums is that is a absolute piece of crab. I hate asking this and I feel bad and please don't give me any crap but when do you guys think this will close?

I will never understand why people feel compelled to start threads like this... on opening night no less. And don't think anyone believes for a second you're asking only because you want to be sure to see this "absolute piece of crab" before it closes.

In this day of spin and hype there is plenty there to pull quotes from.

Plus with the Soul Doctor Opening Night news becoming 2nd lead theatre story to the Spider-Man accident, picked up by NBC4 and the Times.

I didn't love the show when I saw an early preview, still running 2:55. But there was alot to like, especially the Nina Simone scenes and the scenes between Shlomo and his Family. Some of the Hippies in the audience sequences became gratuitous.

Also, sitting on one of the "sides" of the traditional Circle seating configuration, I had to turn left for the entire show. If they wanted to turn Circle in the Square into a proscenium, why not rent the Roundabout's Studio 54 or one of the other 38traditional proscenium houses on Broadway.

If you plan to go, I would suggest sitting Head On in the center floor seats or the "End" seats, further away but you will not have to turn to watch the show.

I also absolutely despise threads like this, complete with the false apologies. I also think it's ridiculous to allow a small subset of people to dictate what you think about a show that you haven't seen.

It's also an absurd question because no one short of a producer can answer that question.

Personally, I don't think the show is crap. I thought it had great potential but was overlong and flawed - now that I hear that major changes were made, and that the show runs a more manageable 2 and a half hours, I'm interested to see it again.

Don't be a sheep expecting other people to make up your mind for you, and if you're going to ask an offensive question, be prepared to accept the consequences.

Actually I find it depressing that threads like this start so early, not every review of this show was horrible and most reviews seem to like the music and the lead. Hopefully, show can find a audience and hang in there for awhile.

They actually have been performing on Shabbos all through previews, taz. I heard Eric Anderson on WNYC's Soundcheck talk about how they hadn't done that in any previous run of the show but chose to now, and that apparently those audiences have been great. Then again, I saw it on a weeknight and my mileage may vary from Mr. Anderson's.

The point of discussing when a show will close usually has to do with real estate and which theaters will become available for Bway aimed shows.

There has always been a lot of interest in that, I think there is a thread called "The Broadway Real Estate Thread" or something.
