I don't want this thread to be only about actors and actresses you've met on Broadway, but I want it to be other people like composers and musical directors as well.
Well, after the first time I saw Avenue Q, I met John Tartaglia. I met Mark Schoenfeld, the composer/lyricist/writer/creator of Brooklyn before and after the show! I went to a concert at Readers Digest in Mt. Kisco and I met Christine Andreas. I got to have a chat with some of the members of the casts of Peter Pan (1999 revival), The Music Man (2000 revival), and Into the Woods (2002 revival). And I was very close to meeting Kristin Chenoweth backstage at the City Center ENCORES! mounting of The Apple Tree, but since she was on her cell phone, I did not want to be rude. So I have yet to meet her!
"Ev'ry-buddy wants ta get into de act!"
- Jimmy Durante
"Breathe from your hoo-hoo."
-Kristin Chenoweth
Man of La Mancha - The night before it closed, I stayed behind and got autographs of Brian Stokes Mitchell and Marin Mazzie and talked to them a bit.
The Lost Colony (Manteo, North Carolina) - One night of rehersal, I went there and got to talk to Terrence Mann, who was directing it. He was pretty busy so it wasn't that long.
Fiddler on the Roof - One Saturday before a matinee, I waited by the stage door and got to meet Alfred Molina. Got a picture with him too!
My avatar = A screencap from Avatar, arguably the greatest animated show of all
Stephen Sondheim walked right pass me at Ravinia, but he was in a rush, so I didn't bother him. I THINK I saw Stephen Oremus come out of the Cadillac Palace Theatre (where ASU played pre-broadway) but I wasn't 100% sure. I also think Joe Dalude (Wicked Makeup artist) came out of the Oriental Theatre stage door on Saturday...again, not 100% sure it was him though.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
hmmm the last trip to ny I met the entire cast of DRS backstage, entire cast of chitty (including one very nice man who loved that my sister and i had a tick tick boom playbill- you can guess who)... at the showbuisness screening, I was sitting next to one of Jeff Marx's friends, and I got to talk with him for quite a bit (I just adore him) while my sister was talking to Euan Morton...who I eventually got to meet and talk with. I can check that off my things to do before i die list. I am still of awe of that experience. but i won't gush
On other trips I have met and talked with adam pascal twice, entire ensamble of wicked backstage, two different casts of aida, entire cast of cabaret during the closing week, hmmm there's a lot more but i can't really think of any at this moment.
As far as how..lets just say my sister and i have a knack of being in the right place at the right time..... well my sister does..and i just follow

After Wonderful Town-I met Nancy Anderson briefly and got an autograph and talked for a bit with Donna Murphy.
After La Cage-Meet and got autographs from Michael Mulheren, who is SO nice and from Gavin Creel. Almost got Gary Beach's but didn't.
After Dessa Rose-Met Norm Lewis and talked with him for a few. ALSO met Stephen Flaherty. Later that week I met Lynn Ahrens as well. And just missed LaChanze, someone occupied her time and then she just disappeared and Rachel looked like she was in a hurry so we didn't stop her.
After DRS-Meet and got autographs from Norbert, John Lithgow(really nice), Gregory Jbara(talked to him and discovered he grew up about 5 minutes away from my dad), and Sherie Rene Scott who is such a sweetie.
After Q-Got Ann Harada and Barret Foa's autographs.
After Little Women-Met Sutton, got an autograph and a pic. Also met Larissa Shukis, Megan McGinnis, Maureen McGovern, and Janet Carroll. Janet and Maureen were a hoot together and Janet also pointed out an interesting typo in the Little Women souvenir program.
That's about it so far. I really wish I could go back to New York this summer, but doubt it's going to happen. But we'll see.

"It's night like this that hotel bars were specifically made." Light In The Piazza
I just met Victoria Clark after Light in The Piazza on saturday night - she's the most gracious young woman - beautiful, charming, takes an interest in her fans. We had a lovely conversation with her and won't forget it for a long while.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"

The Producers (the tour) - Alan Ruck. He came on our shuttle bus. It was awesome.
La Cage - William Ivey Long (my friend and I went to the fourth preview, and we saw him sitting a few rows in front of us, so we talked to him - and then I pointed out that Jerry Herman was sitting at the end of our row (!!!), but we didn't approach him because we were too nervous), Harvey Fierstein, Gary Beach, Daniel Davis, Michael Benjamin Washington, and one of the Cagelles (we didn't recognize him and we can't read his signature). I think that's it.
Oh, and I met Jacob Brent after he was in CATS at North Shore Music Theatre. So that's...more than fifteen.
so you mean, only tech people? i guess i don't remember people's titles when they introduce themselves. Plus most people don't say "hi I'm jon smith, the light board operator for Les Miz". That would go in one ear and out the other to me. Guess I'm shallow.
I took a class from Mandy Patinkin.
Christine Andreas complimented my cocktail hat in the ladies john after a workshop she was in.
does Tom Wopat count? i had a call back where i had to sing some duets w/ him.
I'm not gonna list my actual friends who are working on Bwy but not really "names".
I'd fire you... if you weren't so g*dd*mn beautiful out there. - Blades of Glory

I've only really ever met Andrea McArdle...I was a huge Annie fan when I was ~ 14 and I cried when I met her. Um...and the man who musicaly directed all of my middle and high school shows played piano or musically directed (I'm not sure which) the Grease revival on Broadway. He was wonderful.
