The Phantom of the Opera: 3 (plus 2 more times in 2007)

I haven't seen anything on Broadway since the one weekend I was in NY just happened to coincide with the musicians' strike. However, I have seen the following professional touring and London productions multiple times:

Spelling Bee (SF): 4x
Little Women: 4x
Big River (Deaf West): 3x
Evita (London): 3x
Urinetown: 2x
Lennon (SF): 3x
Lestat (SF): 2x (I couldn't help myself)
White Christmas (SF): 2x

I've seen 42ND STREET, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and STOMP all twice, and will be going a second time to THE WEDDING SINGER in a couple weeks.
There are many shows I would love to see more than once (THE WEDDING SINGER, for example, I'd love to see like every couple weeks!) but I am not that fortunate living far off from the city.
I try to see shows only once, but
Sweeney -13
The Producers-2
Spamalot-2
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels- 5 (6 after I see the tour next year)
The Wedding Singer- 4
Beauty and the Beast- 3 (I saw it in London like 10 years ago, then I saw it 2 years ago on Broadway and then again last month)
RENT- 2
Wicked- 2
Avenue Q- 2

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Both on tour)

See What I Wanna See (Public Theater)
Shenendoah(Ford's Theater)
Mame(Kennedy Center)

I've seen four productions of Grease, three productions of Beauty and the Beast, two productions of The Lion King, two productions of Aida, two productions of Les Miserables, two productions of Cats, and that's about it.
Over 40 years ago, I saw Superman 6 times when tickets were ridiculously cheap. Saw J/H twice & BFO twice
No way could do that now

Almost all of these were productions that ran in Toronto, though Wicked I saw 3 times in NYC and once in Detroit.

once
I just saw Drowsy for my 5th time yesterday. Since August, I've gone to see it once a month. I'm probably going to be seeing it next month as well, and definately in April for my birthday.
I've also seen Wicked 2 times (Broadway) and I am seeing it with my chorus in Chicago in April and also again in August for the tour in Philly.
I've seen Bee once in Philly and Rent once on Broadway, too.
These numbers are all since May 19th of this year.
Well here are my numbers:
Jersey Boys 13 times
Sweeney Todd 2 times
Les Mis 4 times
Phantom 7 times
Chicago 6 times
La Cage 2 times
Mama Mia 2 times
700 Sundays 3 times

My only regret is not seeing Sweeney more times, I loved it and did not get enough!

I really hate it when people keep going back to see the same shows over and over. I strongly feel that you should see a show once and enjoy it. Then you should forget it.
The rest is insanity.
The only shows I've seen more than once are Phantom(2x) and Spelling Bee(4x)
Going to see All Shook Up on Tour so that will be my second time seeing the show. I'm also going to see FB for the second time in a couple of weeks.
I never thought I would agree with Dollypop but I have to here. I am just curious re the monetary aspect of it but to each his own
The Wedding Singer - 8
Lennon - 3
The Light in the Piazza - 2
Rent - 2
there was a reason I brought this one up: when I was at stagedoor for THE WEDDING SINGER there were people who were telling the cast that they have seen the show like 15 times. Puts my number to shame
Hehe, I've heard worse than that at the WS stagedoor.
Rent- 40+
Tarzan- 7 (Mainly for Andy Pellick)
Les Miserables- 7
Phantom- 5
Wicked- 10
Annie- 7

Dollypop, you make a good point, and I agree, to an extent.
It's actually taken me 11 years to see POTO 7 times.
What I do is see different shows every season AND old ones, so it ends up adding up for me.
But some people enjoy seeing the same show over and over and over and seeing different performances, etc...and I enjoy that too, with POTO...but not every month.
I don't think there's anything wrong with seeing a show more than once. To me, it's the equivalent of seeing your favorite band in concert or a movie or a favorite restaurant. If the experience was enjoyable, then why not go again?
Spelling Bee _ 17 (16 in Boston, once in NY)
The Producers - 9
Sweeney Todd revival - 6
La Cage revival - 5
As for money, being a student helps tremendously. The most I have ever paid for a ticket was $60. And that's on the high end for me. Usually, I pay around $25. Plus, being in Boston means a lot of regional theatre, where student tickets are as low as $10.

RENT - 64
Spelling Bee - 20 (16 in NY, 4 in Boston)
Wicked - 8
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - 5
Avenue Q - 4
Fiddler on the Roof (revival) - 2
Les Miz (OBC) - 2 (though I dont remember it at all)
Tick...Tick...Boom (off-broadway) - 4
Drowsy Chaperone - 2
AIDA - 3
This is why I love lotteries and student rush tickets.
BKLYN- 6 times.
I'll only list ones I've seen more than twice, because, erm, there are a lot.
Les Miz: 50+
Phantom: 14+ (I stopped caring to count)
Spelling Bee: 11 (12?)
Rent: 7
Big River (Deaf West revival): 5
Miss Saigon: 3
Lestat: 3 (oh god)
All tours or pre-Broadway. Well, if Spelling Bee counts as a tour since it was SF.
