How to Succeed Cast Album

Any word on when/if a cast album for the current production will be released? I've never seen a revival that didn't put out a cast album.

No word yet. Nor any confirmation that there will be one.

I was so disappointed when the recent revival of 'THE APPLE TREE' did not put out a new cast recording.

I'm shocked. Isn't that one way these shows can make more money? With Daniel Radcliffe in the show, I know his fans are eager for this.

Cast albums don't sell nearly as well as you seem to think. Many never make back the money it cost to produce them. Yes, there are the exceptions of the mega-hits (Wicked, Phantom, etc) but those are pretty few and far between.

It's a shame. I know a lot of fans who can't make it to NY who would love to at least hear it.

I have a hard time believing they won't if any cast recording this season would make its money back I'd say this would be it. I'm sure there are many many people Potter fan girls and theatre lovers alike who would purchase this.

I've never seen a revival that didn't put out a cast album.

The 2009 Broadway revival of BYE BYE BIRDIE didn't get a cast recording AND it was the very first revival that musical ever had.

The 2004 Broadway revival of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES did not get a cast recording and THAT was the very first revival that musical ever had. The current Broadway revival did get a cast recording.

That wonderful roundabout production of FOLLIES didn't get a cast recording AND it was the very first revival that musical ever had. What a disgrace .

I just saw the clip of Daniel on Regis and Kelly this morning and I thought he was funny when she said they had to record a cast album. He said "I DO have to! I'm contractually obliged!"
