I know that 13 have given away a lot of Comp tickets. How would I go about getting a couple for my family and I?

No, you don't know that 13 has been papering the house. You assume 13 has been papering the house, based on the unsubstantiated stories you've read here.

Usually you can get comps by walking up to the box office and asking for them. You're limited to two at a time.

Broadwaynerd I'm not stupid I know that most of Broadway is dark on Monday's except for a few shows. 13 is one of those shows that does not have Monday Performances.
I think McDonalds is giving 13 comps away with every Happy Meal.
While supplies last.

Essentially, in order to get comps, you need to know someone in the show...and even then the show must be offering comps to them, otherwise you won't get any. Comps are generally available to the "public" through papering services...but you have to be a member (which can be $100 a year), and even then they aren't common for Broadway shows, and not all papering services will have comps to the same shows.
Or you need to be a concierge. They get comped all the time. My friend is actually going to concierge night at "13" this evening. You also get a pre-show event most of the times. And I have been lucky enough to be his guest on several occasions!

What are some papering services and are they worth the membership fee to join? How many shows would I get a year?

You can technically see one show a day, every day of the year through a papering service. But at $100+ a year and $3.50 a ticket, that gets awfully pricey.
Lindenmeyer and Hammerhill are two of the major paper companies, and they paper in groups of 500. You can usually join at any Staples.

Any links so I can join online?
D2 is right. I joined at my local Staples a few months back. It's pretty "hush-hush" so ask the manager for the forms. Updated On: 10/1/08 at 05:22 PM
Get on your knee's and say please...
There's a whole pile of comps on the curb outside Lehman Bros and NYSE right now... Go grab yourself a couple!

Are those comps good for any shows or just NYSE shows?

I was very worried about what was to follow "Get on your knee's and...".
