Hello, does someone know who should i contact to get the information about the marriage proposal on the stage? My friend wants to surprise his girlfriend and propose on the stage. That will be their 7th time watching the show, so he thinks that would be a great place. Do they do that? Where can i get the info about it?

Lin seems to be very in touch with his fans.
I would say leave a note for him at the theater or maybe hit him up on twitter.
He also reads this board so maybe he'll see it.

I wonder how common this thought is...I have tickets for the show next June 22 and October 8th, the latter of which is my anniversary...it probably wouldn't be surprising if I popped the question there, but I've certainly been thinking about trying to get in contact with someone at the show about it.

For many, it has nothing to do with what is going on stage. It is all about bragging rights. I have seen it 7 times aren't I special. How about as Concierge noted referring to it as " The Hamilton"? No longer do we call a show by its name. It is so exalted we have to say "The" in front of it. Well last night I saw "The Allegiance" & enjoyed it. Henceforth I shall say the whenever discussing a show.

While a marriage proposal is certainly special to the couple involved it is very common given the tens of thousands of people who see shows each week.
Do not make a theater audience sit thru your intimate life moments. They came and paid to see an actual rehearsed and well crafted Broadway show, not to be part of a strangers wedding announcement.
There are always audience members celebrating an anniversary or engagement or birthday every night. Let's hope management does not make us sit thru them unless their last name is Miranda.

What do you mean it is very common? I have seen practically every show on Broadway this century and I witnessed a proposal after only one Broadway show, Cinderella. I also saw one at a concert at Madison Square Garden and at a book signing, which held up the incredibly long lone. All three times the audience was super excited, as were the performers. A birthday or an anniversary, an annual thing, wouldn't be the same. This is a once in a life time moment. You know how people say if you don't want a gay marriage don't have one? Same thing applies. Who are you to judge?

EXACTLY... though it might be special to you - no one else really cares nor do they want to see it. However, if it were unique and something different like a request to serve divorce papers to your spouse. That I am certain plenty of people would be interested in seeing especially if it is choreographed with props, cameras to catch the reaction, a dozen roses without the flowers just stems, etc

I'd love to propose to someone at the next Presidential inauguration. I know the event shouldn't be all about me because nobody is going to go there to see me, but, well...I kinda think I want to make it all about me because we both love politics and I think that's reason enough so I think it'd be fun to kind of hijack the whole day out of pure ego. Does anyone know who I contact about that?

I assumed OP meant their friend would propose after the show, not in front of the audience. I saw a video of a proposal after the show in Lin's dressing room. When I go see the show this year on my anniversary I'd like to propose but I would never do it in front of everyone in the audience. But doing it onstage afterwards would be awesome.

Jordan, find a news truck with a reporter starting to give their live commentary. This way you don't have to pay for the event to be recorded AND you will get the most bang for your buck on the most people seeing your personal proposal.

This analogy doesn't work because while the inauguration is about the President and it would be absolutely ridiculous for that moment to be about anything else but that, how would a proposal after the 200th, 300th, 425th, 678th performance of Hamilton, or any show, be taking thunder away from anybody? If anything, it's free press, not that Hamilton needs it.

How so? I witnessed a proposal at Cinderella, after the curtain call which was arranged by the entire company, and all it did was add to the memory of the night. Also, the excitement of the audience exiting the theater was tremendously multiplied. I don't think a single person who was there thought anything negative. I don't see how it is any different than making a speech to raise money for Broadway Cares.

You don't see how a private moment between 2 people that have attachement to the 1,000 people in the audience OR the show is different than collecting for Bway Cares???
And no, you do not know how each and every person exiting the theater felt. I would have preferred getting on with my evening.
