I think Hugh Panaro is an incredible actor and because he keeps doing replacemnets he hasn't been nominated for a Tony. what's up with that, he deserves one. I saw him in both Phantom of the Opera and Sweeney Todd and thought that he is sorta overlooked.
Anyone agree or disagree?
Besides how talented he is, he is extremely nice to look at.

I like him very much. Best Phantom I have ever seen. He was in Side Show, though.

I thought he made a great Gaylord in 'Showboat' - beautiful voice. I didn't know he'd done 'Sweeney Todd'. He played Anthony, I presume? When/where?
The most amazing Phantom ever. Was he nominated for SideShow? Honestly, I don't remember much about that year.
At Music Theater of Wichita, they've asked him to play the Phantom in "Phantom" (not the ALW version).
I agree- Hugh is such an amazing actor!

He has a nice ass
Er.... and was once married to a friend of mine....
I never saw him in POTO or Side Show, but at Stars in the Alley -- damn the set of pipes on him!

He made a fine Anthony at the Kennedy Center Celebration's Sweeney production in 2002. What a fantastic cast that was too, between Hugh's Anthony, Brian Stokes Mitchell's Sweeney, Baranski's Lovett, Mark Price's Tobias, and of course the wonderful Celia Keenan Bolger as Johanna and Walter Charles as Judge Turpin!
Vocally, Hugh was more than up for the role. The sideburns were maybe a bit ridiculous, but that's hardly his decision.

CJR - do you know that from first hand experience?
Next to crawford he was the best Phantom (I have seen 4 differnt ones) and The Sweeney Todd cast was incredible. He needs to either star in a revival or do a new show cuz he needs a Tony.

He is a fantastic looking man, although I was sorry to hear that he was or had been married. LOL, how sad!

No, didn't see Broadway Damage
Broadway Damage is pretty boring and I thought he liked boys? hummmm
Just because he was married doesn't mean he doesn't like boys.
I love Hugh! He was the first Phantom I've ever seen live (not counting Michael Crawford on the OBCR and Gerard Butler on the movie). And he was AMAZING! He had such a powerful, passionate voice and made me cry during the finale. And of course, he is pretty hot
The other long running Phantom was married and then came out.
Well, I know that of course baddadnpa. :) Yeah, talented and quite yummy.
P.S. Love Danny Gerwin!
I love Danny too. Saw LW, but he wears so many clothes in that one. LOL
Saw him as MYB in Ragtime. He wore too many clothes in that one too....but not at the closing party! :)
