I love this cast and we really do need a new recording of this show and I know many would agree.
Hugh Panaros voice deserves to be heard on a new recording.
The Phantom of The Opera 2005 New Broadway Cast Recording
I would buy this in a heart beat.
Considering how much it costs to record a show these days, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Andrew's got the money so that't not even a problem and you would kidding yourself if you said he didn't.
I WANT A NEW RECORDING
or at least a CD with Hugh's Phantom..........NO I WANT A NEW RECORDING.
I know he is wealthy. I just don't expect him to piss it away on a new recording when his score has been well represented by the original London cast.
Not...gonna...happen.
that and the movie soundtrack just came out. I seriously doubt that this will ever happen any time in the remote future even though it would be nice.

Four recordings is enough for now.
You want, you want, you want.
Do you realize that most shows are lucky to have ONE cast recording, let alone the (upwards of) a dozen that shows like Les Miz and Phantom have?

While I do admit, Hugh Panaro has an amazing voice...
Another Phantom recording? Why demand such horrid things?
Its definitely not going to happen now, but years back when they were doing the symphonic Les Miz and Miss Saigon, I thought they might do something similar with Phantom, but that window of opportunity has really past. There is not the market for that kind of recording now, especially with the recent film soundtrack.

What I've seen them do in London is record certain songs from a show and sell them. For example, I have a cd of Petula Clark singing two songs from "Sunset Boulevard". (This may have been sold at the theater, I can't remember). For some reason, those mini-cds have never caught on in the US, but it would be great if they issued them.
There will be no new cast recording of POTO, but you could search out some of the amazing foreign cast CD's that are available. The Vienna recording starring Alexander Goebel is my personal favorite of them all.
This will never ever EVER happen, although personally I would prefer ANYONE to the irritating Michael Crawford anyday.
While I would love to have a POTO recording with Hugh and the rest of the cast...It wouldn't happen...
Although, I'd rather they just take another Christine and Hugh and record them, then place their voices over Michael's and Sarah's....
The rest of the OLC is awesome!
They have 4 recordings and though I loved panaro as the phantom (I have it on VHS) I dont knwo if id buy it. I have the original London cast, the broadway cast, the movie and the Canadian cast with Colm Wilkonsin (original Valjean) and I dont need another. Plus in order to do another one theyd need time to do it meaning the cast would leave the show whoch defeats the purpose.
I am confused, is the OLC = OBC?
Which has Sarah and Michael?
Yes, there is no OBC, only OLC. To be honest, I'd rather listen to the movie soundtrack ANYDAY than the terrible OLC.
Gerard is awful...
I think Michael is quite good.
But Hugh is better
Well, we obviously disagre about Gerard, but I could listen to him all day. Michael Crawford makes me want to throw my CD player out the window.

Eh, I'll pass.
I think he's good.
Grant it, after hearing Hugh, Crawford sounds weak and bland.

Considering that the original London Cast Recording contains all the music of the show and with the movie soundtrack just released a couple of months ago I don't see it happening.
The OLC does not contain all the music of the show. Actually, it states that right in the booklet...
No, it's not happening. Do we really need to expose ourselves to yet another recording? Ugh, please no.
