Thanks to the wonderful 'Going Out Of Business Sale' at the theatre store in Times Square, I picked up the cast recording of THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL for about 6 bucks last week. I had the pleasure of seeing this cute little musical twice during its short Off-Broadway run, and the CD does not disappoint. (Honestly, though, I skip over about half of the tracks -- the ones with Norbert & Jeannie -- their storyline was the only dull part of the show.) But the songs that I love to listen to are the ones with the three girls, including the amazing Linda Hart and the hysterical Leslie Kritzer. Girlfriend stopped that show cold with her perfect comic delivery and kick-ass voice. She's worth the price of the CD alone. I'm so glad that she had success with her PATTI LUPONE AT LES MOUCHES show and that she'll soon be back on Broadway in LEGALLY BLONDE. I was also glad when she was recognized with a Drama Desk nomination for TRAILER PARK. So whether or not you got the chance to see this show, next time you're in the mood for picking up a catchy, fun cast recording, grab this one -- also, I don't know if it's available on itunes, but if it is, you might want to just buy tracks 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, and 14 if it's cheaper than buying the whole CD. They're really the best ones. Also there were a bunch of copies of the CD left at the store in Times Sq. if you want to pick up a very discounted copy.

i heard some of these songs on Broadway World Radio and it immediately made me run out and get the CD. it's extremely funny and i have to agree that while a majority of the songs get skipped through, the ones that don't are golden :)

a lot of it reminds me of WHOREHOUSE a bit. especially the Ann-Margaret cast.

I just saw Leslie's Les Mouches show in SF last night and it was crazy fierce. Love her! I guess I have to buy this cd now...

I love Trailer Park. The cast is kickass and I think it is very clever the way it is written...there is a Rocky Horror reference is "Great American TV Show."
