Posted: 4/6/08 at 9:05pm...did not feel the need to alter the text, add trunk songs, badmouth the original, etc. Sunday, Pacific, and Gypsy all keep to the original script and score while still being fresh and new. Great season for revivals.

Sorry, but there were several cuts to the GYPSY script..including Rose's pretend rape in the Mr. Goldstone scene...and of course, the ending of the show was downright changed. The text was altered. The end of the show...changed.
I would have been thrilled if these changes had not happened.

I know you were being "funny" and snotty.
But.
Many shows that have won the Pulitzer could use some fixing. Also, many of them have been "fixed" after the Pulitzer... The Young Man from Atlanta comes to mind... and... they did add a song to South Pacific and a full orchestra... and South Pacific is also a Pulitzer winner.
