Anyone else? Definitely one of the best musicals of the last ten years.
Urinetown left Broadway far too soon...loved that show. I saw it on Broadway and when the tour came through Boston.
A truly original musical with a great book and a fun score.
Agreed.
I would miss it if it weren't done so often regionally...
but agreed, it's a shame it had to close. I still look forward to Little Sally and Office Lockstock at the BC/EFA events.
There are three productions in my county this year, and I can't go to any of them. I guess I'll have to wait 'till next year to see it yet again.

Just a tinkle or two! I had the pleasure of enjoying Tom Hewitt and Christiane Noll in the tour. It was a "priviledge to see".

Careful, PG2. Your starting to sound like a BroadwaySecrets post.
But yes . . . Urinetown. I always thought it should have been a bigger hit. It fits right in with our current detached sense of humor, I'm surprised more young people didn't spread the wor
Yes! I realized how much I missed it when I recently saw Spencer Kayden in Don't Dress For Dinner (she practically stole the show, which should transfer to Broadway, if you ask me). A brilliant show and THE funniest musical I've ever seen. The original cast was magic.

I fell in love with URINETOWN when it was off-broadway and had the great seating where you felt like you were watching the peasants being fed to the lions at the Colliseum. I told James Barbour how brillant he was with his take of Officer Lockstock. He thanked me and told me HE did it at the 1st reading but had to give it up for another show. Glad he was able to come back. Jeff Mccarthy was brilliant ( and cheated out of a TONY , nomination and the award itself) but James certainly had his own spin on it.
A deeply hysterical and surprisingly moving musical that actually had something relevant and important to say.
I laughed until I cried when I saw it on Broadway and in every regional production. Brilliant show.
I've been in it once, and seen it once.
It is probably some of the most fun I have ever had on stage.
