After seeing its numbers?
Why would a Christmas musical extend past the first week or so of January?
I think it could have lasted through Jan. honestly.
Well, it's making tons of money, I'd have thought the producers would extend it for a few extra weeks. The city will be filled with tourists for awhile and these tourists are the audience for this show.
I could see extending through mid-January. But I don't think it would have much appeal after that.
And isn't there already another show lined up to take that theatre? They couldn't have extended too much if that's the case.
^ True. HOW TO SUCCEED begins previews there in February. So ELF will likely need a new house next fall/winter.
I would have seen it, had it extended.
HOW TO SUCCEED probably wants to start loading in right away. Elf is already scheduled to return again with a cast recording this Christmas. It did very well over the holidays and it would probably lose money by extending unless it was only for a couple of weeks. No Christmas show has extended before and they pretty much all close right after New Year's.

No extension? But it would be perfect to catch it again on Easter Sunday this year!
