Elfman was not first, tomei was, then elfman, then krakowski. and ofcourse before tomei was the (unrelated) revival starring paula abdul.



No, actually, Elfman was DEFINITELY first. She was the announced star of the workshops in early 2002. Then came Tomei, who was attached to the project for over a year. Then, when they realized that she could neither sing nor dance, Karkowski was in for about 5 minutes. Then, finally, Christina (then Charlotte, then Christina again).

I am just glad I got to see the show with her in it. I thought the whole show was wonderful and I would see it a few more times if I could.

Jane K. will never play the role, since she insulted Neil Simon, saying the script was lousy and it had to be rewritten.
